I’ve frequented Steny’s many, many times living in Milwaukee. The food is ALWAYS fantastic, and there’s always a great crowd of people. This is definitely one of my top choices for bars during the beautiful Wisconsin summer.
Went Friday night during a Bucks game so it was super lively, around 9pm. Got a drink at the bar and was seated in maybe 10 minutes. The Crab Rangoon dip was incredible!! Oh my gosh!! Better than any crab rangoon ive had. Fries were way too salty so that big pile was a waste. We had BBQ and Hot & Honey wings. They were tasty. Not the best ive had but decent. J had some house drink that was watered down and my man said his tanqueray and lemonade was watered down also. Decent spot, spacious inside, gotta search for a park on weekends on the street due to the area been packed with bars and nightlife.
Wide selection of bar foods and beers on tap. Plenty of options from regional breweries and larger brands. Food was good, wings were meaty and well seasoned. The giant pretzel was a hit within my group, soft and light and great with the included cheese sauce. If you order wings and fries you will get a whole basket of fries. Prices are fair for the quantities. Service is good but may be a little slow since this place gets very busy. Not without good reason though! Would come back.
We had a friend that recommended this place to us. We were very hesitant based on the reviews. They added a mandatory 18% to our tab. When I asked she said anything over 25$ gets 18%. On the actual bill it said anything over 50$. No one really knows this policy there. It wasn’t a big deal and I would’ve actually tipped at least 20% but it just felt as if they were sneaky about it. It wasn’t on the menu or anywhere else. Food- wings are 10$ for 6 wings. On the menu, there are no prices once again I felt as if they were sneaky. The food was mediocre and not worth the high price. Mac and cheese had good reviews so we tried it and it wasn’t worth it. We actually didn’t even eat it all and it was a small bowl. Apps- we got the pretzel and it was pretty good. Fries- were cold and soggy and not worth it. Atmosphere- they had quite a few TVs and showed quite a few games. We requested the Ohio state game and they put it on a few TVs. Service- greeting was excellent but after that it went down hill. The greeting was probably the best part of the night. The waitress wasn’t too bad. She came by a few times but it wasn’t that great. Overall- I feel as if this place is a good sports bar. The beer selection was great, the atmosphere was great, the space was great and not a lot of waiting. I started this review with a 3 star and went back and forth debating if I should give it a 2 star. and after thinking about it, 2.5 would be more accurate. I feel as if this establishment was misleading, mistrustful and the food was mediocre. Disclaimer** if the menu does say that 18% gratuity is included please let me know and I’ll update this review. I would’ve tipped more than 18% I just didn’t like the fact it was sneaked onto the bill.
Great bar to watch the packers game It was crowded but we got a good table the table for a big group and had good food and a fun time
Found this great place from the owners of our Airbnb! Food was great, took some home. We went back the next 3 days! Great service, food and staff! Last night we got the Pizza, again great! If we ever make it back to Milwaukee, wii definitely visit again.Recommended dishesSpinach Artichoke Dip, Chicken Wings
A great place for a bite and a sip. The bartender is always pleasant and incredibly attentive. The burgers are consistently delectable.Food: 5/5
They used to be a five but the last few times we went, they haven't been as good. Still best wings in town. Wing price finally went down, now they charge for ranch. Our server only still has a job due to the extreme storage of staff everywhere, she's awful. We saw one guy working like there's no tomorrow, next time we want him!Dine in: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: NoCurbside pickup: Yes
Went on a Saturday night and was seated straight away. Staff was attentive and friendly. Food portion was decent and at a good price. I had the Cuban sandwich which was excellent and came with a huge mound of fries. Also had a cup of the chili which was also very good. Washed it down with a cranberry mule, a nice winter signature drink. TVs we’re a tad loud if you wanted to converse with anyone at your table, but overall a great experience.
Had a great experience! Went for the free shuttle to the Admirals game. Food was amazing! My only complaint was the volume of the football game that was on at the time. It was so loud we had to scream to hear each other at our table. I'm not a "turn it down" guy usually but this was obnoxiously loud. Other than that, it was great and we'll definitely be back. Had a great meal. Parked there for free. Hopped the bus to the Ads game with a drink in had, got dropped off AT THE DOOR, picked back up at the door after the game and back at Steny's to wrap the night. What more could you ask for? Prices were a little high but that's everywhere in our current economy but you usually get what you pay for. I feel the food quality was worth the higher prices. Kid-friendliness: We did bring our 10 year old. Keep in mind, it's a bar first so you'll have bar people. That said there were a few swears yelled about the game on TV but it's up to you to determine if you want your kid exposed to that. No issues on the bus but again, that would depend if you got an obnoxious drunk or two. However, no kids menu that we were aware of so had to buy a full price/size adult entrée. Parking: Nice lit across the street but probably fills up quickly. Otherwise, plenty of street parking in the surrounding area.
