Super 8 by Wyndham New Castle

Check in was easy, lady at the front desk was really nice. Rooms need updated bathrooms but they're clean. I like that the windows open but there are no screens. Definitely not safe if you have small children. No tissues and only had only half of a roll of toilet paper when we checked in. No biggie for overnight but usually standard to leave one extra at least. Elevator was sketchy

Beds were good ,good hot water, breakfast was nonexistent. No bread just 4 small danishSMALL and 3 small eggo waffles. I have stayed at many many places and this attempt at breakfast was the worst, even during covidRooms: 3/5

Dresser missing a drawer. Outdated microwave but descent for the price. For a smoking room, it was clean and didnt smell. A.C works great.Rooms: 4/5

This place is a real flea bag hotel. As soon as you walk in you know…it stinks of smoke and the front desk seems to be behind bullet proof glass. And the employee behind the glass was wearing a shirt with bleach stains or something all over it. The room appeared clean, but we were afraid to look too close- it was late, and we landed there out of desperation after our reservation at the Marriott was mistakenly cancelled…no wonder Super 8 had vacancies! I will say that the AC worked great though- and it was scorching hot outside so that was a pro. Unless you are desperate, stay clear of this place.

Upon entering, you are greeted by the overwhelming blanket of cigarette smoke. I reserved a non-smoking room which was on the first floor, but it made no difference as the entire facility reeked of heavy variations of unwanted smoke and human body odors. There were many flying bugs of unknown types that mysteriously entered the room while the doors and windows were closed. The room itself lacked thorough cleanliness and desired appeal for the amount of money required for a night's stay. So that no one else is caught off guard, please be advised that an absurd $100 deposit is required for pre-approved Visa debit card holders for incidentals. The advertisement states that it is also pet friendly but it appears not to be even Neanderthal friendly. However, the staff was welcoming and courteous although communication with the cleaning crew was challenging. Please view the photos I've attached. If this is considered rental ready, I would have to question the establishments COVID-19 prevention readiness. Sincerely Disappointed.

Watch out they make you bring $100 cash for a deposit and charged an extra $15 per person cash. No ATM either. Definitely feels like they are running some shady business here. Plus the lady was rude, and the place is pretty disgusting. Couldn’t get any refund on our booking so we still stayed. Wish we would not have. The rooms were equally as disappointing.

I'm giving it 2 stars because there weren't any rodents. The lobby and hallway smell heavily of cigarette smoke and weed. The room smelled like a musty locker room. The bed was an extremely cheap and extremely stiff spring mattress. It was a pain to check in. I know this hotel is meant to be inexpensive, but for $120 for a night stay my expectations were much higher
