Tara Bemidji - Thai food and craft beer

I will be honest, when the place first opened I would have gave it a 2 star rating as the staff was impersonal, I stood around like an idiot with no direction as the staff didn't even give me direction as to what I was supposed to do. Seat myself, go to the register? I basically got short answers to my questions. Very impersonal. I thought I would never go here again. However today after hearing the place has really improved.... greatest experience, food is still really good, staff was welcoming and pleasant. Now there is even a sign as you walk in to direct you on what to do. I would give this place an 11 if I could. Happy to see this place doing better as I love Thai food.

My significant other and I like the the food here. My husband likes the beef pepper briSket. However, Many many times we have tried to eat here and were dissapointed. We didn’t realize they were closed during the middle of the day around 3 pm so we entered (the door was open and unlocked ) and then everyone yelled at us that they were closed— pretty embarrassing actually. Of course again on a Monday or Tuesday we tried to eat here and the restaurant was closed. Then again today I tried to order over the phone after work for takeout. It’s a Friday. They weren’t open yet and would not accept orders (its 4:55 pm) they open at 5. I get off at 4:30 like a lot of people I’m not waiting around town till 5 to order and then till 5:30 to get my food. Also, you cannot order over the phone by calling in. You must order online. Too many rules. I cannot deal. Therefore, I will not be going back even though the food is good. I just can deal with the weird hours and I always feel like I am an inconvenience to the restaurant. It’s been at least 10 times I have tried to eat here and was unsuccessful. I give up. 😡

Tara was very good, overall very fast service, but we beat the rush (5:30)! Great selection of wine, beer and Thai food most importantly. I ordered the drunken noodle, which was great as I like spicy...and it was most definitely spicy. The noodles were cooked perfectly and I added a side of Jasmine rice stemming from my Asian heritage (nulls the spicy a little). The spring rolls were also great, although the sauce was a little too sweet and missing maybe a little spice. All in all great vibe, good eats, quick service and pleasant experience. I would go back for sure!

Very very sub par food. Drinks are way over priced, service is not good. I'd rather go to New China any day of the week

Still very good however the Pad Thai I had this time seemed a little sweeter that spicy. The little one on this visit seemed to like it a lot though.
