Taste of Maine Restaurant

Easy access from Rt 1, lots of parking, lovely water view. Fun lobster on the roof. Service was good and drinks and food interesting and delicious. Very relaxing and friendly. Good for a family supper or for date night. Am planning on going there again!

Our family went for mother's day, and it was pretty great. Service was a little slow, but it was mother's day! Best lobster Mac and cheese, ever. They use at least 4 types of cheese and it's super creamy with a toasted Ritz cracker topping. Yum. Google says it requires a reservation but we didn't have one and got seated right away.

There is a reason that many locals refer to them as "The Waste of Maine". Let me start off by saying, their bar tender is friendly, hard working, and attentive. Things went down hill from there. Our seating took quite a long time for a party of two, despite a lot of empty tables. The wait staff were slow, though friendly and they got the order right. The biggest failure was the food. The chowder was thin and not very flavorful. I ordered the seafood combo. There was only a small piece of haddock, the scallops tasted like they were frozen and not fresh. The fried clams were under cooked and the bellies were slimy (see the picture). The shrimp were good. And the end, you are far better off driving 10 minutes down the road to The Sea Basket. You will get better, fresher food for less money.

Had the buffet. I can only speak for that. It was only average. Not sure it was worth the money. Wait staff however was awesome. Checked on you frequently and were very courteous.

The best lobster/crab roll that I had during my time in Maine! I tried quite a few during my trip, and the one I had here was by far my favorite. The restaurant also has an interesting interior and nice views.
