Ten Thousand Villages Overland Park is a fair trade retailer. We create opportunities for artisans in developing countries to earn income by bringing their products and stories to our markets through long-term fair trading relationships. Ten Thousand Villages Overland Park is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation committed to promoting intercultural understanding. We educate volunteers, customers, and the Kansas City metropolitan community about fair trade artisans and farmers, their cultures, and the opportunities and challenges they face. Following years of education and fundraising by a small group of passionate volunteers, Ten Thousand Villages Overland Park opened to the public in June 2000 in Historic Downtown Overland Park, Kansas. Many of those founding volunteers are still working to support our mission, helping make our exceptional store what it is today.
