Thai Orchid Restaurant

Been hearing some good things about this restaurant so we decided to try next time we found ourselves downtown. Well I've got to say the rumors were true! Everything was so delicious! Service was on point as well. Love the industrial decor! Think we found our new favorite place!

I have come here many times and haven't been impressed. The quality of food ranges from night to night. The only thing that doesn't change is the excessive amount of time you will wait for a to go order. I ordered today at 7pm on the dot and was told that it would be ready at 7:30. I arrived late as they never have the food out on time and had to sit and wait another 20 minutes to get my food. Obviously this place needs more help in the kitchen because, the food you get is not worth the wait.

Food is quality here. The service is hit or miss, and usually leans to the miss side. I recently went there during my lunch. I was told I could sit in the bar for no wait. I had a seat and sat for nearly 15 minutes before I was even acknowledged. After placing my order it was another 25 minutes before receiving my food. This left no time to eat and I had to request a to go box. (So I could refrigerate the food I just spent my money on to eat later.) The server brought me my check with no acknowledgment that it had been nearly 40 minutes before I received my food from my arrival and then asked if I wanted change from the cash I laid out to pay him. They were a bit on the busy side but as I had plenty of time to watch others I noticed that on average drinks were being delivered within 5 minutes of arriving. And food about another 10. All in all a poor experience. Previous visits had less of an obvious lack of customer service and more just a general ingenious quality. The food is good though, which is the saving Grace. Hope customer service catches up soon.

One of my first experiences with Thai food, and it has ever since held my standards so high. I can hardly enjoy eating Thai anywhere else because I am so in love with the food here. I’ve been here numerous times and have never walked away not entirely satisfied. Please come here, and please bring people that are special to you, so they can experience the salivating pleasure of this fine cuisine.

Super pleasent! Freshest sushi in Vancouver. Service is excellent, and the fact you can get Thai food and sushi in the same place is Incredible. We got the eggplant tofu stir fry and it's the best I've had, once again,another reason to stay local in Vancouver and not waste time in Portland.
