I have eaten at The Barn several times, in the upstairs ,and have always had a great meal and great service. I have always felt welcome. NOT SO IN THE TAVERN, my sister and I went a couple weeks ago on a Friday night to have a cocktail and a burger. We were told that reservations were needed and that they were full. That was fine, I wasn't aware that we needed reservations, but we understood completely. That was not out problem, the gentlemen behind the bar was an arrogant ass. He was short and snotty to us. When my sister asked what kind of red wine they had, he turned away and went to the other end of the bar with no explanation to why he was leaving us in mid order. When he returned he did make our drinks. My sister had a seat at the bar but I had to stand since the bar was full. Another patron entered the tavern after us and was allowed to sit at one of the tables while waiting to get a seat at the bar....WHAT!!!! I know this establishment has delicious food at a great price but they could use some better help in the tavern. Since they promote how welcoming they are on there website, they might need to take another look .

Lovely restaurant in a scenic countryside. I agree with previous reviews, service is great, food is tasty and the whole place has a comfy rustic feel to it.

The Barn catered our wedding and did an outstanding job all around. Mark and Margaret are a flawless team. Mark handles a lot of the business and Margaret does the lion's share of the cooking, but what makes them special is their experience working together to make major events go smoothly. The food received countless compliments, many saying it wast the best wedding food they'd ever had. Mark sat down with us beforehand and planned the menu in detail, even substituting some ingredients we specially requested (goat cheese instead of feta for the salads and gluten free versions of specific items, for example). The dessert table display and Margaret's custom cake was jaw-dropping. They were thoroughly accommodating from start to finish, and helped us work within a budget. Overall, we were thrilled and we look forward to stopping back in to the restaurant next time we are back in town!
