This small, friendly store is tucked between Dairy Queen and Kokoro’s. It is actually one of the oldest bookstores in our metro area, opening at this location way back in 1977. The Book Rack offers a good selection of paperbacks at a reasonable price. There are some nice books for children, too. It's a great place for browsing! The world of books is changing, after all, and paperback books are not as plentiful as they once were. At the Book Rack, you may discover many treasures - or to be more specific, many paperback books containing out-of-print texts that are otherwise hard to find. There's a buy-back and credit system available for customers, which seems nice, although I don't frequent the store enough to make it practical. I have often thought the store catered more to female customers than, well, to "guys like me" - but honestly, the last time I was there, the other three customers who came in to browse were, yes, guys like me. The lesson, I suppose, is that we should all be careful when we try to characterize a book store! Even a small shop like the Book Rack is not so easy to pin down.
Great selection. The ladies that were running the store the day that I went were absolute gems. Very informative, super sweet, very helpful. I'll be back for sure.
Super cute bookstore, with thousands of gently used books to pick from. The staff are so friendly and I love the idea that if you have been registered with the book rack, you can earn points and save money on future purchases. They have the books very well organised by type and genre. In the few times that I have been there I actually found books that appeared to be brand-new! I give The Book Rack five stars!
Great place to find paperback copies of lesser known older books as well as modern favorites.
I have been to over 20 used bookstores around the country, and this is one of the best organized I've ever seen. They have an excellent selection of mystery/thriller novels. The owner was super helpful, searched through her index on the computer, and told me exactly where to find the book even public libraries aren't this organized. Furthermore, I appreciate that the paperback books are all stacked horizontally instead of vertically. It makes a huge difference on neck strain if you're going to browse for an hour! I highly recommend this place, and will be back for sure.
This place is dangerous. They have a really good selection of books. Since the books are 2nd hand the savings can add up quickly.
This book store has an excellent and broad selection of all genres. They have children's books, romance, mystery, current popular fiction, and more. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They buy certain books, but are very selective. Also you can only use your credit for part of the cost of books.
Small book store feel. It's got really good prices and from what I saw had a good selection. I went there with my daughter and she enjoyed looking through the kids books. The lady there was helpful and nice
Very organized place, it’s a joy to wander the bookshelves. Prices were a little more than I was expecting, but great selection of books.
This is a typical used bookstore. I'd say a large selection of fantasy and romance novels, though there are other book types in addition to a small Young Adult and Children's section. They have a buyback program where you can get store credit that can be applied to part of future purchases. There was an older lady who seemed rather inconvenienced to have to explain this to me. Otherwise it was a good visit.
