The Coffee Shop

Back in the 90s this used to be one of my favorite haunts. Now I go here when I'm in the neighborhood after shopping or just trying to have a quick break. The drinks are still great and the food is good for an American version of Brazilian food. The staff is still cute and a bit inattentive. But that is what this place is known for.

It's great if you are going as a couple it it for drinks with friends. However we went with kids. They tried to be accommodating but they don't have a kids menu and most of the menu is pretty spicy. My husband and I enjoyed the food. They did she is right near the fire place because it was chilly out.

My date picked this place and it might have literally been the worst date if he wasn't so funny. We sat at the bar and let me tell you, if you're short like me, you're definitely going to have trouble climbing up/adjusting on the tall seats. The place is more like an old diner (eeks!) with a bar in the back. Service wasn't great, like... where's my water? Guacamole & Chips- 2/5 I thought you can literally never go wrong with chips and guac, but apparently you can. Nothing special about this plate, except that they tried to season the chips a little, but concentrated it on one spot.

Food was pretty good had a hamburger. They were cheap with the fries, didn't give a good portion. Then it got worse this COFFEE shop didn't have any coffee to give me cause their "barista" had left. They didn't have any regular COFFEE. THEN the waitress had the nerve to sit there and give me my check and tell me to take my time and then 5 minutes later told me I needed to pay because she need to do her paperwork. I get it u wanna go home but this is the customer service industry your in. I felt I was being indirectly pushed out of the COFFEE shop before I was ready. Anyways thanks for listening.

Might have terrific food, but only three stars because it is NOT A COFFEE SHOP. Why would you call a fancy Brazilian restaurant "The Coffee Shop"? Think of all the agony this has caused! (Note that they do have a bar where you can get coffee, or they would have gotten yet fewer stars. Also the lady was nice.)
