We arrived & ordered appetizers at 6:30pm and didn't get our appetizers until after 7:05pm. I checked online the day before to make a reservation and it wouldn't let me. The friend we met up there with, called shortly before we wanted to come in and they let her make a reservation. Not sure what that's about. Our appetizers were very delicious. The bread came with a small basket of prepackaged butter and honey butter. The queso fries were slightly spicy but not bad for someone who doesn't like spicy. Our main dish didn't come out until 7:30pm which we were told was because there was a group of 50 from a bus, who came in after we did, we noticed and kept reordering so for some reason their group got priority over others in the restaurant. That did not make us very happy. We didn't see our waitress often but she seemed to do the best she could. Got us water refills towards the end of our meal, to go boxes, offered to bring us a container of the BBQ sauce which we loved but they don't sell. She also took a moment to take pictures of my friends and I. We'd go back, the food was really very good, service was okay, our server was kind but others , not as much. They did offer us a discount on our bill for the inconvenience of waiting so long for our food.
Edit: lmao, I just discovered that this place is actually Texan... As a Texan, I'm ashamed to say this...no where near me has BBQ quite this solid. I've traveled all across the country and eaten at many BBQ joints big and small but this place was something special. There was only a 20 minute wait to be seated for a table of 2. Trevor was quite possibly the most attentive and service minded waiter I have had in a LONG time. He had excellent timing with everything AND appeared to have a full section. The food, 10/10 I ordered moist second cut brisket, sausage and pulled pork and could not have been more satisfied. I have to be honest here though, the meat was so good I never even dipped or dribbled any meat in their sauce. The review would not be complete without an honorable mention of the house made loaves of bread. MY GOD, it was good. Tall and thick slices of moist near cake like bread served with margarin and a whipped honey butter. Hope this helps, and I know if you decide to stop in...you will not be disappointed. And make sure to ask for Trevor!
Great barbecue! I enjoyed the tap of the day; which was a smooth Cerveza. We split a brisket tacos appetizer and it was a good indicator that the rest of the meal was going to be quality. Following that I had a 1/2 rack of beef ribs; they use a great rub and the smoke flavor was rich throughout. Good chance I’ll visit again next time I’m in town.
Just wow. Located at the foothills of Sandia Peak. The pork ribs, their three chilly stuffed pork tenderloin was filled flavor. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and patient. Served is with a smile. Hot brownie and ice cream OUT OF THE WORLD. Must TRY. DONT MISS THIS. Homew bread warm and yummy. Tortilla and the Salsa so good. Get in here and try them out!
Not the best bbq spot we have been to, but the location was great! I had a hard time giving 3 stars, as the service was wonderful, and our waitress was so sweet! : However as for the cons, the price was too expensive for what you get, and the taste was just “okay”. Overall not bad, but not worth going again due to the price/overall quality. Could have just been an “off” night due to it being during the ABQ balloon fiesta, however might give it another shot if in a bind, due to them being open late.
Updated review: it’s *very* rare for me to give a bad review out of almost two thousand reviews. Downgraded from 5 stars to 3 for now. We visited tonight for my dad’s 74th birthday, as is our usual tradition. My mom set a reservation online somehow and she got txt confirmation but the hostess said reservation wasn’t listed. My parents waited outside early before opening to ask for a table by the window. The hostess was so rude to them. Told them “no reservation listed and to step aside and wait. No guarantees.” Remember they were first ones inside. She sat everyone in the line first and sat us in a corner and was so rude to them and us. Our server was nice so there was some redemption but it almost ruined dad’s birthday. Hostess young girl with dark hair wearing a mask needs to be talked to about disrespect to older people and customers, who are human beings. This has always been one of my favorite places in ABQ. The barbecue is really good. They’re a little on the pricey side but I think family and fun times when I think of this restaurant. If you’re in the Albuquerque area, come try this place for really good barbecue!
Our group of six enjoyed a wonderful meal here on a Sunday evening. We had a reservation for 5:00 but there wouldn't have been a wait. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and our server took great care of us. Drinks and food came out with perfect timing. Between the six of us we tried every meat and most of the sides, and it was all delicious and flavorful. Also very plentiful quantities of food for what I consider to be reasonable prices. We live on the other side of Albuquerque so we aren't often in the area, but we'd drive back soon for sure based on our experience tonight. It was too chilly for the patio, but it looked really nice and had great city views. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu with all the usual kid-friendly fare Parking: Plenty of parking
It had been a while since we had eaten at the County Line BBQ as it is a bit out of the way for us, but we always remembered how wonderful it had been. We took a Sunday drive and found out that it was just as fantastic a dining experience as before! The service was excellent as was the BBQ brisket, pulled pork, BBQ chicken and loaded and I mean loaded baked potato. A extensive menu with so many options made deciding what to order a culinary adventure. We also found the dining room atmosphere to much more comfortable, cozy and appealing than many restaurants in ABQ. All in all it was truly a treat and we will make sure to be back now on a more regular basis!
Coffee was cold. Did not have lager listed on menu and did not have baked potato listed on menu. Waited 40 minutes to receive cold fries and chicken strips, not to mention chicken strips tasted horrible and were cut up. Grilled chicken was over seasoned and incredibly salty. We were charged for drinks that should have been included with kids meals. Salad had ingredients not listed on the menu but missed ingredients listed on menu. The server was friendly and attentive.
We decided to celebrate a birthday last night. We made reservations for 7 pm. Everything was OK. The dining room was mostly empty, which surprised me. We had two separate orders for 8 people. We ordered 2 Cadillacs and a bowl of green chile stew. The second order was 5 Cadillacs. We ordered all that came with the platters. We had to ask for bread midway through dinner, and when it finally came out, it was stale and not tasty at all. The bowl of green chile stew never came out after asking twice for it. Finally gave up on it. The first order had 5 meat choices. Initially, three meats were chosen, then midway two more choices were made. On the bill, the waitress tried to charge us for additional meats. We had to explain it to then a couple if times, and still, the bill was inaccurate. It would be understandable if the house was packed, but the opposite was true. At what we paid, we expected better service but were sadly disappointed, especially my guest who never received her order at all while we all ate. We were all very disappointed with the lack of service and lack of acknowledgment that should have accompanied the end of our poor experience. If this was a normal dinner, we would have been disappointed. But it was a milestone birthday with friends and family. This made the experience much worse. We live and learn.
