This was our first visit to The Hall. It was good. Better than ok, but not great. The service was great...quick seating, fast order, and pretty quick on getting the food out to us. The food was just ok though. I got the chicken schnitzel with fries. He got a brat. We also ordered an appetizer of potato cakes. They came out at the same time as our main course. I'd say they were the best part of my meal. My schnitzel was a little over cooked and the fries were pretty generic.
Must Stop...... Hidden Treasure....... Great German themed food, modern decor huge waiting and sitting area. Games, shuffle board, three bars and plenty of seating,,,, this is a great place to hang out...
Food - Service - Atmosphere - Value - Overall, this is a decent place for a large group. However, it can get very noisy, very quickly. Food is your basic German-style restaurant food bratwurst, schnitzel, pretzels w/ beer cheese, etc. I apologize for the half eaten food in my photos I was hungry . Below is the liter of hefeweissbier and a Bavarian bratwurst with red cabbage and sauerkraut.
Great beers, great atmosphere. Sandwiches are huge. Bratwurst was delicious with onions peppers and pickle relish. Great menu as well.
Great place to grab a bite and a beer. You won’t find more comfortable seating anywhere, staff is nice. Beer selection is great, and the best thing is you can order beer by the liter.
A great downtown joint to grab some tasty sausages before the game. The place is large and perfect for large groups. They have affordable beer options and $8 well drinks. Not bad considering the location. Food has been hit or miss. The last bratwurst I had came out cold, but the platter was hot, fresh and delicious. They even have vegan options.
My first visit here and it was really good. I had the dew drops frankfurter and the brussel sprouts. The sprouts were phenomenal. They were a bit sweet and tender with some crumbled yummy bacon and I believe a maple syrup drizzle on them. I like the atmosphere which is very welcoming. The dew drops frankfurter had some beer cheese, sauteed mushrooms, onions and peppers on top. If I had one complaint it would be that they did not offer a lunch menu, however, I can't wait to go back and try some of the other offerings.
They have a new menu for a new year. The prices have gone up and they did away with the gluten free menu. I was really looking forward to a hardy meal. But left so hungry. They do have some affordable drinks. The bartender was nice. I hope they have some better choices in the future for a person who is hungry and does not cost an arm and leg.
Good curry bratwurst. Fries could have been a little crispier. Beer cheese was good, not amazing, but the pretzel was great. Not a huge draught list but hits all the major categories. Large can and bottle beer list. Overall service was great, very comfortable and friendly environment. I would go back for sure.
Let me start by saying the staff were friendly and service was excellent. The restaurant was sleek and clean. Unfortunately, my praise stops there. The food was terribly disappointing. A feature article in Louisville Magazine stated that the proprietors sampled over 190 sausages to make determinations for their wurst menu. The two sausages I had on Saturday night were nothing special. I feel like I could have bought better sausages at Kroger. The buns were ordinary, the sauerkraut bland, the red cabbage dry, and the mustard tasted like it was from a store-bought plastic tub. If you are looking for tasty beer cheese, superior sausages, flavorful cabbage, and mustard that makes you sniffle, go to Eiderdown in Germantown. I wanted to like The Hall, but feel like I was let down. Why the hype?
