Tasty food. Delicious drinks. Husband had the gumbo and liked that, I had red beans and rice and the food was tastier with each bite. We had a mango madness and creole splash to drink, and they were divine! Couldn’t taste the alcohol but could feel the effects.Recommended dishesFried Alligator Bites
Stopped in on the way to the French Market. Was seated pretty quickly. Sat next to the street but it wasn't too bad aside from some car exhaust every now and then. It made for great people watching. The service was great and so was the food. We had the jambalaya and the gator bites.Food: 5/5
It was quite busy, but we were lucky enough to sit outside under the covered area given the beautiful weather. Service was good, everyone was very happy with their meal. I enjoyed the shrimp po boy, but add a little more spice to mine or have a spicy mayo. To top of this great meal... we had a fantastic band playing.
Absolutely wonderful cafe off of Decatur. The service was wonderful and fast. They were all very friendly as well. The food was delicious. Out of the three places I had Red Beans and Rice, this was by far the best. The Gravy in the gumbo dish was delectable. And if to top it all off the band they had playing was amazing and fun and killed it.
Delightful open-air restaurant with semi-outdoor seating. Our server was super sweet and very good at her job. She was so polite. Service was efficient. We ordered shareable portion taste of New Orleans cup of each: gumbo, crawfish etouffee, jambalaya and red beans & rice. Very tasty! Relatively inexpensive relaxed atmosphere. Live music. Great people watch spot. It’s near a decent public bathroom. Good place to rest between walks. In the French Market shopping area. No I.D.
Market Cafe is a perfect spot to experience New Orleans cuisine. The food is good and the setting is adjacent to the French market. The service is only all right. We had a party of 7 and things came out slowly. The server was nice and friendly, but the actual service could have used some improvement.
A nice fun cafe in the middle of the busy streets of New Orleans next to the famous cafe du monde. The jambalaya is to die for , the gumbo is delicious and the liquor infused coffee is refreshing. On top of that , they have live music to enjoy while enjoying your delicious food . A must try if you are looking for a simple yet fun place to enjoy your food .
Ate here twice on our trip. We sat outside to people watch and have a drink. Food is good! Bloody Marry is excellent, and the crawfish begneits were amazing. Other food was pretty good too. We had shrimp po boys because they were out of oysters.
We visited here May 10th 2022 for lunch. We loved it! By far the best place we found on our visit to New Orleans. The food was amazing, the Jazz band playing were excellent and captivating, the service and friendly welcome we enjoyed from Daranika was warm and generous. Thank you so much
We checked out Market Cafe for a quick lunch and we had Jambalaya and Muffuletta. Jambalaya was such a comfort food and tasted good. And I had Muffuletta without meat, and it was ‘ok’. But, service was too good and staff was really nice. And they had a live jazz music band in the restaurant which was a great vibe for the French market area.
