Went in to find a hat for my significant other and we had Michael attend us. He was a super knowledgeable man and was patient with us as we looked for the perfect hat. At the of our time there Michael had been so nice that I said I wanted a hat too and he spent even more time to help me. Would absolutely return to buy a hat here.
The store employee was awful. Some friends and I went in, and one of my friends had some food in her hand. The evil witch screamed at us and asked if we read the sign because it said no food. We told her no, we didn’t read the sign, and we were sorry. She then proceeded to ask us to leave. It’s sad because I was there to do business; however, we were asked to leave because of something so tiny. If you are reading this, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don’t buy anything from this store. As a black man, I like to try and support black-owned businesses; however, instances like this make it hard.
Y’all, some liars. All these negative reviews made me think I was in for it. I took a KN-95 mask, gloves, and a plastic bag, thinking I wasn’t allowed to touch anything. The two there could not have been kinder. The gentleman Michael there had me try on various different hats and found the perfect one for me. I saw some they didn’t have in my size, but I was assured that some will be ordered in a larger size for me. I ended up leaving with this beautiful cobalt gray hat that matches my outfit. I’m not sure what brought up all these negative reviews, but from my experience, I plan on going back.
I would exercise caution coming to this store. Based on other reviews I’ve read, it seems many other people were “greeted” by the same woman who treated my brothers very poorly. There are a lot of signs with a bunch of “rules” which is frankly a little ridiculous for a store with ugly hats. Sorry. There’s one giant sign blocking the entrance and a small sign saying “children must be accompanied by an adult/parent in the store” or something to that effect in the window. My brothers went on ahead of me I’m in my mid-20s so I definitely look like an adult while I finished reading the big sign and this woman was quite rude to my brothers telling them to “go back and read the sign” when I was RIGHT THERE reading the sign. She saw me and knew I was with them but was still impolite to them and pretty much kicked them out. All they did was walk in and she acted like they were going to stomp on every hat and cause a ruckus. If I were the owner, I would maybe evaluate employees’ temperaments more before hiring ‍
Yikes, unfortunately all the other reviews are true. Met immediately with unfriendliness. When I went to touch a hat I was yelled at. I came in with $$$$ in my pocket to spend, but was treated so poorly I left. It’s too bad, they had nice hats, but how are you supposed to see if you like It if you can’t touch or try them on. The worst customer service I have ever seen.
Worker was incredibly rude to two girls just this evening who came in. One picked a hat up by its tag to compare the color to another hat and bent over. The woman came over and yelled at her and her friend to leave, accusing her of trying it on. Girl stood her ground and was great but the woman rolled her eyes and refused to listen. Totally uncalled for and rude. And the girl had a water bottle, completely sealed, and the woman still yelled at her for having a drink. I was so disheartened by how she treated them that I had to leave. Woman needs a new job.
I think people know how to read signs before they stop in your store especially during the holidays when every store has signs that says no food or drink. We didn't even have food or drink with us. We bought food in a sealed package for a Christmas gift that was in a brown paper bag. I wanted to buy a hat as soon as I walked in. However you lost my business the second you treated my husband and I like babies and kicked us out and asked us to read your stupid sign. Two disposable incomes with no kids haha. Learn to run your business better because that was ridiculous. Might I suggest approaching people who are actually snacking and drinking and kindly asking them to step out? How much business have you lost just like mine because they don't want to deal with your attitude?
My father and I have bought many hats from this store in the past and have enjoyed the sales and service from the owner manager and great selection. Today I dropped by while being in Crown Center and was surprised by the terrible woman who I encountered working at the store. She was not only unhelpful but also went out of her way to be rude and disrespectful. She made it clear that she didn't want me in the store or my business. Her level of mean and rudeness was wholly shocking for a business establishment. . I was surprised and disappointed by this encounter since I have been such a fan of the place in the past. After reading other reviews on here, I see that I am not alone in this experience. It seems that the husband is fantastic to work with and conversely his wife is mean as a witch. Good riddance TMP
One of the first times I’ve ever left a review. I drove 20 minutes to get here to look for a hat and I’m sure the store has one but the people there are seriously rude. I left not because I didn’t find a hat I want. I left because they don’t deserve business. Very disappointing.
I had to give this business another thumbs up for another rewarding visit I had today. I’ve purchased several hats at the Missing Piece over time. Their selection is astounding and the service I receive is always gracious. Requirements to enter the store and trying on hats should be respected, something else I appreciate. Very much enjoyed my experience and of course love my new hat!
