The Pie Pizzeria - Underground

The pie was delicious! We had the chicken ranch pizza and it was really good! The place was busy, but, they still seated us quickly. The pizza came out quick and it was delicious. There's no real wait staff, so you basically wait in on yourself. You grab your pizza when it's ready. You have to get your own refills for drinks. But. I don't mind that. Still damn good pie. Also. Pro tip. Grab yourself a white sharpie.

Rating this below five stars is sacrilege to some people, I realize. I'm just not that in love with it. The atmosphere is fun and cozy-- charming on a weekday or at lunchtime, hip in the evenings and weekends. Pizza is good, but really heavy. Beer is on tap. Menu is extensive, and there is something for everyone. Bottom line is that the pizza isn't five-star pizza.

A really unique and fun place. Very lively, noisy atmosphere, which is great if that's what you're looking for! Not a place you go for a quiet, romantic dinner, but definitely the coolest place near the U to grab a bite of delicious pizza with some friends. The only negative thing I'll say is there is not a ton of seating here; I wish there could be more. We did have to stand and wait for a party to get up to snag a table.

I was overall underwhelmed. Great atmosphere and a fun location but the pizza was a bit greasy and average at best. They also have an "apocalypse" dough made with ghost peppers. They make you sign a waiver and say you can't give them a bad review because it was to spicy but I'm going quite the opposite way. If I sign a waiver I should sweat and my mouth nose and throat should burn. This dogh gave an underwhelming tingle and had almost none of the delicious raw smokey flavor ghost peppers usually bring to the table. Great place to hang out and have a brew but if you have a pizza craving there are likely better spots.

Really cool place in the basement of a building next to the university. Wow the Mountain of Meat Pizza!!! It is DEFINITELY a carnivore pizza. BEST meat pizza I have had in a long time! Thanks. I will be back next time I'm in town for business.
