the dover sole made me glow. chocolate cake so great i couldn’t find words to describe it. extremely attentive and professional staff -heavenly location with ambiance and warhols to remind you of the old new york.Food: 5/5
One of the most amazing dining experiences you could possibly have, beyond all imagination. The staff, particularly head waiter Chris and sommelier Michael, could not have been more brilliant, charming, and warm. Our first time here, but we felt like regulars. And we plan to be as regular here as our bank account allows. That said, with everything we had, and we had everything, we thought it would be even more expensive. This place is a dream and it made a special night more special.
The Pool is spectacular. From the moment you walk into the door, upstairs through the Grill, past the luxurious plant display, and into the massive open dining room and gaze upon the eponymous pool with a moving mobile above --- The Pool never fails to impress. Service was impeccable and attentive. Everytime we returned to our seats, the chairs were pulled out for us. Angel, our server, was knowledgeable and on point with recommendations. I remembered him from Torrisi way back in 2011 which speaks to the loyalty and professionalism of Major Food Group. The food was simply off the hook. The bread with salmon butter was smooth and heavenly. Oysters bursting with freshness from the ocean. Octopus was perfectly cooked and a hearty portion. Tuna toast was delicious with a generous and sleek helping on tuna on each piece of bread. Beet Mille Feuille was a masterpiece to look at and extremely flavorful in a way you wouldn't expect. Gazpacho salad was intricate with good balance of acidity. My main course was the Portuguese turbot which I thoroughly enjoyed and was perfectly cooked. We tried a bunch of the desserts and Frozen Yogurt with various toppings was heavenly. This place is firing on all cylinders, can't wait to return.
The highlight of 2018 for me! Was looking forward to THE POOL’s opening and was no disappointed! The decor, the atmosphere, the service here make it to the top of my list in NYC. I would recommend the Sea Urchin toast to start with we actually ordered an extra portion because it was so good! and halibut for entree. The wine list is so long you will need help from the sommelier unless you know exactly what you want
The pool is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. From the Baeri royal sturgeon caviar to the cotton candy, everything is delicious. I've taken more than 50 pictures of their dishes since I was young. Great atmosphere, great waiters, great food.
5 stars service, excellent food, everything about this place make you don’t want to leave, Jimmy one of the bar attendance is always so attentive, everyone in this place make you night memorable!!!!
Anticipate some time to relax in the lounge overlooking the pool room with a few cocktails before sitting down for your meal, though the drink menu is both creative and tasty - based on the flavors of 10+ different main ingredients, from fruits to jalapeños. The service is good, wine list extensive, and menu is well done - with some creative and nicely executed dishes in each category, including the Foie gras ribbons, sea urchin toast, grilled , and perfectly cooked Dover sole.
In the old four seasons restaurant space, this incredible bar/ lounge has taken its place . The cocktails are all works of art, each named after it's main ingredient- this one being the "cucumber". Service is very good, yet not too overbearing. Mints in the bathrooms are a nice touch as well
Excellent lunch spot. Great food, excellent atmosphere with a sense of history sitting around the pool.
Went to a wedding here. Beautiful location but weird layouts. Only 2 unisex bathrooms near upstairs pool room that always had a line. Bigger bathroom downstairs but you had to go thru another party to get to the stairs. Dance floor was in upper space and because of the partitions you could not see the bride and groom dance. Tight space for picking up seating card. Poor layout. Good was tasty we had the filet.
