Ordered Turkey Chile soup + grilled cheese. Soup was mediocre at best, not worth 10 dollars for a small container. Grilled cheese was beyond a disappointment. Seamless had it at 4.50 so I was hoping for something nicer then the elementary school grilled cheese. It was worse…
Try this soup! So comforting and tasty. I had the split pea and butternut squash and would order both again and again. All the soups are gluten free which is amazing if you’re celiac. I also loved the curried mango chicken salad. So happy to have found this place. Vegetarian options: Lots of soups are vegetarian and vegan, same with the salads. Kid-friendliness: Lots of soups kids would enjoy Dietary restrictions: All the soups are gluten free and they can adjust most salads to be gluten free upon request.
Wow, finally a place in Park Slope for genuinely scratch made soup. Considering the lack of homemade food on 7th Avenue and the abundance of below average new spots cropping up, like Pasta Louise, the Soup Bowl is an extremely welcomed and very local, as in family run-restaurant, in a neighborhood that has been lacking in this type of local quality for years. The variety of daily soups are generous as are the hearty, chunky portions. On a cold, overcast day you can’t ask for better. Wait till you try the fresh pieces of baguette that accompany each order.
Excellent soups and such a nice chef who makes the soup! I tried a few different ones and they were all delicious!!! Love that there are vegan options and not too salty options :
I wasn’t feeling well with a cold and wanted some soup to munch on until my cold passed. My boyfriend ended up picking up 3 different soups for me to have my choice with. The Chicken Soup, bisque and corn chowder. I was a bit confused with the chicken soup as it had unnecessary amounts of undercooked hard beans in it. I’ve never had beans in my chicken soup especially not hard undercooked ones. The chicken bits in the soup were pretty dry and flavorless. The bisque was okay but disappointed in the fact that there was not an ounce of lobster meat in it. I’ve only had a bite of the corn chowder but could instantly tell I’d be underwhelmed when I have a bowl. There’s nothing in it. It honestly just tasted like puréed corn and cream. No potatoes, bacon, barely any flavor. I don’t think I’ll be back for soup in the future.
dishes are porridge with different toppings - definitely delicious and unique. I had them a few times and loved them every time again. Mochi cake is not too sweet and wonderfully chewy and fresh. Their vegan avocado-chocolate mousse is super smooth with a rich dark chocolate flavor. Love them! The atmosphere and decor are casual and beautiful. Kelly L.Elite 2022 Knoxville, TN 343235523 10/21/2022 2 photos Came during lunch time and there was no one else. Seems like only one worker too. Quite cafe. I got the salmon and a yuzu juice to go. They have the Japanese juices that I love here so had to get it. The salmon bowl was surprisingly filling for what it was. Brown rice at the bottom with a ginger tahini dressing. The salmon was good with a decent portion. Also a lot of veggie toppings like seaweed salad, roasted kale and mushrooms, and pickled burdock. This is close by so I'll definitely go back to check out the different offerings. I imagine it's tough to survive in the Bay Area since there's so much competition. Gladly support healthy affordable food! Umami menu Salmon Bowl Danielle K.Elite 2022 Oakland, CA 131402865 9/26/2022Updated review 6 photos1 check-in Sooo happy with our lunch today! I had the mushroom bulgolgi salad that was SO flavorful that I didn't even need the dressing. YUM. I just love this spot - so healthy, thoughtful, and never a skimp on the flavor! Tip: add fun items to your meals - I added avocado and a soft boiled eggs to mine! Mushroom Bulgolgi Salad 6/6/2019Previous review What a perfect spot for a flavorful, healthy, whole-foods. We had the Umami Bowl, the Chicken Jook, and a turmeric latte made without coffee, so it was caffeine free. Both are spectacular; the Umami Bowl blew us away. Fresh sardines, wilted greens, delicately pickled cabbage, fish flakes for a nice chew, mushrooms, a rice porridge...it was perfection. Read more Amani A. I am so happy with the Soup Bowl when winter comes! Uncle Louie Gs ice cream closes and The Soup Bowl opens. Yummy, healthy soup. Friendly people. Good portions. My favorite is the butternut squash lobster bisque.
This is what passes for a grilled cheese sandwich here... Soup is also mediocre. Avoid.Food: 1/5
