The Steaming Cup

Nice and cozy coffee shop where you can get sandwiches and pastries. This is my second time here. It is terrific. A great option to having to do Starbucks all the time. It is in a really cool downtown area of Waukesha that is very walkable and has lots of shops and restaurants. Coffee is great too. This is also a great place to do some work and pound out emails.

Warm and Cozy place... Been here many times since 2010. The food is great. I am not a huge fan of their coffee as I am a coffee "snob". If they provided more of a selection of roasters and brew methods other than your old school drip brewing I would be over the top about this location. If the front room gets crowded they have a back room that is great for seating as well.

It was hot so my 12 year old son asked to stop into this establishment to grab a drink. When we got to the counter I realized I left my cash in the car, so I just asked for a glass of water for my son and the girl behind the counter actually said “No, when I find a dollar I can buy a soda”. No to water!!! A lady sitting right next to the counter could not believe what she heard either and began berating the girl. We left and I went directly to my car so I could walk up to the counter slam down a twenty and redeem the situation, while walking back to my car I chose to be the better and just write this note to you all. I will try not to forget how disgusting people will be if given the chance. I won’t be forgetting my wallet anytime soon. I’m a fool for forgetting my wallet, but this place is disgusting.

I've been coming here for years mainly out of convenience. The food has always been very good, but the hot coffee drinks leave something to be desired sometimes. I had a cardamom latte the last time I went and wasn't too impressed at getting a mouthful of powder when I reached the bottom - I guess I was expecting it to be flavored with a cardamom syrup, not spice powder? Not too major, I guess I just have hit-and-miss luck with hot drinks. Back room atmosphere is pretty nice and they often have good musical acts. Can get loud whether or not there's music that night. I prefer Roots for studying.

Great local spot. Enjoyable live music and talent. They have a nice back room as well that is a little quiet if you plan on staying for a while with a book or something. Their cinnamon rolls are to die for.
