There is a little known secret to the legendary Mr Natty, the most hilarious royal barber. If you are REALLY lucky you may be able to get your head in shape again in Costa Rica as well as New York. Living in Costa Rica, as I do, cool haircuts are hard to come by and twice now I have lucked out on Mr Natty's annual sojourn to the jungle. You may notice the Cecropia trees, considered the jungle pioneers, in the photo background are unlikely accoutrements at Tuft. As a bonus to a unique and refreshingly different haircut you will get a boatload of London banter which you should probably pay more for as it will add a delightfully odd perspective to your world. The proof was in the pudding when a couple of months later I asked my formerly excellent hairdresser of many years to try and do the same thing. He said no he could not.Service: Haircut
I love Tuft, I’ve been going there since they opened on Mulberry street. Mr. Natty is the man, does a great job every time with my hair and beard, he’s definitely the best barber I’ve found in the city and he’s a lot of fun to talk to. The shop itself is beautifully designed and very pleasant to be in. Do yourself a favor and book a haircut at Tuft, you won’t regret it!Services: Haircut
I saw a sign outside that said "Free Haircuts," and poked my head in. Sure enough, I got a phenomenal free haircut from one of the shop's apprentices. She was great, and the entire time the more seasoned barbers were watching and helping. I'll go back even when/if there aren't apprentices, because it was a quality men's haircut.Service: Fade cut
Best haircut in NYC. Natty works with you to find the perfect cut and listens to exactly what you want. Quick, fair prices, clean shop, and easy booking. As long as I am in NYC, I am a customer for life.Service: Haircut
I will never go here again. Every time I go I have to wait 30 minutes even when I have a scheduled appointment. The other day I went for a beard trim which should be a 10-15 minute job. It too 45 minutes because the barber kept chatting with the barber next to him. He woul literally pause for extended periods of time to talk with the guy about buying a motor cycle. I was completely not the focus of his time. And the trim was also poorly done. Don’t waste your time with this place.
Thought I’d give this place a shot because I follow an influencer that posts about it. Also thought because this haircut would be so expensive the results and experience would justify the price tag. Boy was I wrong. The reviews stating that your wait can be 30+ minutes regardless of an appointment are true. Not even an apology either. The reviews stating you aren’t the barbers focus whatsoever are true as well. I decided to give this place more than one shot because I thought things happen, people have bad days etc. I should have not returned after that first time. Save your money and get a haircut from a place that doesn’t act like they’re doing you a favor…Service: Haircut
Overpriced for what you get, 50 bucks for a barely ok buzzcut and beardtrim, no aftershave or extra service at all, not exactly a nice and talkative barber either, no drink included, and done in 20 minutes? I’ve been spoiled I guess with other barbers.
I get my haircut only at this place. Mr Natty never fails to make me look great and all the other stylists are really friendly, even when they aren't cutting my hairService: Haircut
Hands down, easily, and BY FAR the WORST haircut and barbershop experience I have EVER had. My barber completely ignored any requests I had about the haircut I wanted. I showed him pictures of past haircuts I liked, and a told him I wanted a scissor cut, and a little more than a trim. But he said “No, no, no. Trust me.” He was completely arrogant and ignored what I told him. Before getting cut, he even told me my current haircut was “horrible.” Before I could even finish describing what I wanted he had shaved all the length off the side of my head. He continued saying “Trust me.” When he was done, my hair was completely butchered. I can safely say that I will be wearing a hat for the next month+ until it grows back out. Walking into Tuft, I had no idea that 30 minutes later I would be thoroughly embarrassed, ignored, and unhappy with my hair. If you are looking for a haircut or even a trim, please avoid Tuft. There are plenty of barbershops and salons that are nicer, more accommodating, and more professional located in the immediate area. You will completely regret ever walking in.
