Spacious apartments, reasonable price, friendly staff, I can’t find anything to complain about! Olivia in the office was so helpful getting me through the application process and when I moved in my apartment was perfect! Highly recommend!!!
I signed my lease to live here for the summer expecting a luxury experience at the price point that I am paying. Unfortunately, I have experienced anything but that. Living here has been a complete nightmare for multiple reasons. The first being the situation with the pool. From when I moved in on May 1st through mid June, the pool had approximately 4 inches of brown water, as seen in the photos. The pool was open for about 5 days after that and I thought the issue was over. No. I went to go to the pool and I was shocked to find stickers that said that the pool had been condemned by the city of Columbus because it failed to pass an inspection. Really? A "luxury" apartment complex can't pass a simple pool inspection? Nice. So I guess I signed my lease here expecting to be able to utilize a pool but it hasn't been accessible since the day that I moved in. I even went and asked a competing apartment complex to use their pool because I told them the situation with Uncommon, and they allowed me to because they felt bad go highline at nine: sign a lease with them. Another reason this building is not up to standard is security. Half of the time the doors do not lock and anyone can walk right into the building. I've noticed multiple times that the side doors are unlocked during the middle of the night and half of the time the front doors aren't even locked so that anyone can walk right in at all hours. One night I walked home and found 3 homeless people sleeping in the lobby and I was shocked. I'm genuinely scared for my safety here and that is completely unacceptable. The quality of the conditions of the building in general is also a major issue. Multiple exit signs are hanging from the ceiling, the parking garage gates don't work another security issue, one of the elevators is out of service, the trash is constantly overflowing in the hallways, and the list goes on and on. As you can see in the photos, one of the pipes in the ceiling of my kitchen is even leaking and has left water marks on the ceiling. They checked it out and said, "Oh no big deal." Okay, Uncommon. Also, my roommates light in his room has not worked for months and after many maintenance requests the issue still has yet to be resolved. This building is only one year old and already falling apart. It was clearly rushed to be finished in time and it very much shows. I've talked to multiple other residents and they all have shared the same feelings. One person I talked to even told me "I can't wait to get the f*** out of this building next month." For them to charge $1000+ per month and market themselves as a "luxury" apartment building should be criminal. I almost signed my lease here for the upcoming school year and thank god I didn't. Promise me, you do NOT want to live here. I hate this building with every fiber of my being and you can get much nicer experiences with other apartment complexes. Uncommon needs to be shut down, condemned, and investigated because what they are doing to their residents and how they are marketing themselves is complete and utter fraud. Stay as far away as you can from this building.
The place is great. Trash chutes are small so you need to crush properly. The maintaince is slow as well. The room is good
Lived here 2019-2022. Seen management teams come and go - it was really during Covid 2020 that the place took a nose dive. No elevators on move out days, ignored maintenance, & unfixed amenities. Really is a shame that this place went downhill. Personally I would just pay 100 more for a better place or sub 1000 for another place because you can find the same quality appliances and sound reduction in other places. Charged for problems that you tried to ask maintenance to fix / debating with them that the apartment because your wall sticks left a mark. Example , I tried to talk to them because the paint is too thin for anything on the walls unless you nail a painting but you might get charged for putting a whole in the wall Also, AC units breaking down for weeks in the summer & needing to put physical units in apartments. I wouldn’t live here longer than a year but that’s just me. Browse your options and if you still pick this place don’t me you I ain’t warn you. The response to these reviews is normally a bot so that shows how much care goes into it. Tried to follow up w/ them but nobody responded GG.
I currently live here and they’ve been so easy to work with and Lori is always so helpful with getting packages and making sure stuff that is delivered is safe!
Seriously, do not live here. If you're wondering if the others reviewing are exaggerating, they're not. I lived here from August 2019-July 2020. I remember on move in day that several walls in my unit were damaged or scratched from day one. As soon as I moved out, management tried to tell me that I was responsible for the damage of 16 different walls in the apartment and that I must pay $240 to get them fixed. I TOLD THEM THEY WERE DAMAGED WHEN I MOVED IN, but apparently, this is another way that they scam people out of their money. I tried to dispute the claim multiple times until communication went dark. Now, two years later, I'm being mailed invoices from a debt collector about me owing the Uncommon money for the walls, a debt that has apparently been up against my credit for years now... Unbelievable. This apartment is not luxury in any way; the gate was constantly broken, noise complaints were never taken seriously, one of the elevators was constantly down, and overall, it's not worth $1000+ to live in a cheap apartment that was thrown together in a year. I even had my windshield shattered by a loose screw that fell during their construction above the garage. They took no responsibility and insurance was the only way I was able to get it fixed... Save yourself the headache.
I’ve lived at this apartment for about 9 months now and I have no complaints! The staff is very friendly and accommodating, plus the amenities are awesome. The pool area is huge and includes a hot tub and extra seating to hang out with friends, and the courtyard is a relaxing place to study outside. I’ve also enjoyed being able to use the gym and yoga studio. The location is perfect since it’s walking distance to the short north and right off campus, so there are lots of things to do around here. There is also a Kroger right beside it so grocery shopping isn’t a hassle. I recommend living here!!
I thought things got better with the new management, they did not. After almost a full year of living here and a change in management they are enforcing new policies and putting new charges on us that have never been enforced or told to us that they would be going to effect. $25 if the fee for forgetting your keys in your room for two minutes and asking to have the office unlock your door so you can grab them. Have had my door unlocked several times without any issues and now with new management even if your door gets closed on you taking out the trash you have to go down to the office and give personal information to student workers and then get charged a ridiculous fee. If the policy is changed tenants should get notified!!!
I loved working with Olivia during the leasing process it was fast and simple.
I have lived here the past year and disappointed is an understatement to describe my experience. Before signing a lease with my roommate I tried to take the negative reviews I read with a grain of salt only to find out they were the accurate responses of this place. More than half the time their stuff never works whether it be a broken hand sanitizer pump by the elevators with sticky disgusting disinfectant in it, or a broken elevator. It makes me absolutely frustrated with the amount of rent they charge tenants here to provide a horrible living space for everyone. You would think with all that money they would invest it in making the place nice, right? Wrong. I have talked to both current and previous tenants and everyone has had at least one experience of getting stuck in the elevator. An incident that happened last night for me was I came back from a night out very late so the office was closed by then. I came back to find that BOTH elevators were broken. They have had days to repair the other one and just haven’t moved a muscle and now both are broken. It said to use stairs but I had no way of knowing where the stairs even were located from inside of the lobby due to zero signs leading you to them. Because of that I ended up with no way of getting back into my place while being drunk, I was thankful enough my friend was able to pick me up and let me crash at her place. My other issue with this place is how poorly structured it is. My door doesn’t lock when you close it unless you slam the door which is annoying for everyone nearby. The walls are insanely thin, when my roommate would be in the living room I would be able to hear her as if she was in the same room as me. I’ve even been able to hear things from my bathroom while the shower is running. I’ve read numerous responses already and it’s the same copy paste “we’re sorry you’ve had a negative experience” from whoever manages the google page and it seems as if nothing is done to change those bad experiences from a year ago to happen to future residents. All in all it is not worth a single dollar. It’s an insanely high rent for a below low quality apartment. The fact that this building continues to somehow pass said inspections amazes me, you can tell it was made cheap and rushed, clearly they are very money hungry and greedy. If I can save anyone in the future from signing a lease here by this review that’s all I can hope for. I’m glad I’m able to move out of here in a few months. The only good part is that the staff in the lobby was usually always very nice but that’s not enough for me to rate this place anything above 1 star. If I could make it 0/5 stars, I would.
