A couple reasons for low score. one is parking. The lot is a block away from the clinic. It's also in a very busy area. Right in the heart of stadium village neighborhood and traffic is horrible. I could possibly overlook it if they had good doctors and service. I saw 2 very knowledgeable doctors. Both however made me feel like they wanted to get me in and out as quickly as possible. I had a really hard time asking questions as the Dr's gave me speeches and did not seem to want to listen to my questions or comments. I am shopping for another clinic as the U of M is stuffy and has a very corporate cold feeling to it.

The building looks nice and I think that is where my compliments stop. I pull up to the valet and its a long line just to get in there. Whomever did the building plans did not make proper accommodations for the amount of cars that pass through there. Traffic is a nightmare around this place. I finally get to the floor I'm looking for and there is a long line all the back to the elevators just to check in. They don't have traditional desks but more of these kiosk stations where someone with a Ipad will check you in. For the amount of people lining up, I believe there were 3 people to perform that function. I have a seat as directed and it takes over an hour to be called back for an appointment. When I complain to the nurse, she said that they only have so many rooms to use and they have too many Dr's. working to accommodate all of the patients and they do not have enough staff to work with all of the Dr's. From the looks of things, I believe this to be a true statement. Please keep in mind that it already took 6 weeks just to get an appointment. Then I go back in the exam room thinking that I would meet the Dr. No, guess again. I am greeted by the resident, the fellow. I tell my story and then the Dr comes in and I have to repeat my story yet again. I was not asked about any resident, student, fellow etc. This information should have been explained when booking the appointment. The Dr ordered labs and imaging. I find that floor and guess what, its another long line out the doors just to have these simple tests done. I believe that this place is very poorly ran. The concept may be great but it proves to be a total mess in reality. A follow up appointment was recommended and I was given a far out date. That was absolutely the last straw for me! I called another healthcare system where the phone was answered promptly, and my appointment was scheduled in less than a week. Run far and as fast as you can from this system. It is a complete nightmare. Long wait times on the phone to schedule, long wait times to get in for an appointment, long wait times to be called back to see the Dr., long wait times to have testing done, long wait times just to valet your car. I can't honestly say that anything was expedited here. What a joke!

My low score is due to the way they handle reception, check in and follow up at this entire building. I've been going there fairly regularly since this building opened. There is no reception for each area. You find the "floating" personnel with ipads to check in, then wait in the approximate area of your appointment. Once in the patient room, they should be able to find you due to the e-tags each visitor wears, but this is not fool-proof, as we've been "lost" at least once by that system. After your appt, if there is any follow-up to be done--instructions, more appointments, etc, you have to find personnel in "pods" (anonymous workstations that they all use) to help you. Generally, you end up spending way more time than with the old reception-style check in and follow up. Most of it is spent searching for their floating personnel.
