Great staff and treated really well. Went above and beyond to make the stay as good as possible given our reasons for being there. Excellent doctors.

My husband had back surgery here via picture ugh I know had to go through his neck but Dr Louis Harkey Surgeon did a wonderful job and all the nurses and staff were very nice and helpful through our stay!

Can’t speak for all of UMMC’s care but Geneticist Dr Joseph Maher is one of the smartest doctors I have ever seen (I’ve seen a lot). It was difficult to get in to see him initially but he followed up and saw me through testing, which he and his office assisted in getting covered by insurance. Explained everything in detail including considerations in regards to life insurance (genetic implications). He is caring, thorough, top-notch and truly brilliant.

After more interns that could be counted (who knows which one was the actual Dr.), and every one giving different answers, the are sending my Dad home after an overnight observation. He was transferred there by ambulance for an abdominal aneurysm. Their reasoning is out of a possible' 4', he is considered a '2'. Unbelievable that internal bleeding is no concern to them, and they are basically sending him home and risking a serious issue to occur at any time. Staff was cordial, but I wouldn't recommend going here unless you are ok with receiving sub-par health services!

The ER and nurses were awesome. They get 5 stars. Once admitted, I was listened to and made to feel like family. Then today I was discharged. After less than 48 hours, I was treated like family that overstayed their welcome. The issue I was admitted for was not resolved: I was still in a great deal of pain and unable to tolerate a liquid diet. I felt like I was being kicked out of my sick bed and rushed home with medications to treat the symptoms and not the actual issue. I was told I was welcome to return to the emergency room if I still felt bad. I left sobbing and feeling like less than a human. I am thankful for the nurses and one of the Drs who initially thought it unwise for me to return home in this state. I will be filing a complaint.
