I've been going to the Roland Park Post Office since 1990 and have consistently received competent and friendly service. On most of my trips to the post office, customers have treated the staff with courtesy and they've gotten the same back. In the last few years, I've observed the post office staff being treated increasingly with condescension. When my turn at the window comes, I'll sometimes say that I'm sorry about how unkind the previous customer was. The most frequent response is that they're used to it. I've not seen my regular mail person for a few weeks and hope she's coming back - she's great!
This is the best post office in Baltimore. The employees are kind, responsive and create an atmosphere that is so much less tense and stressful than most post offices.
Second time I’ve rushed to get to the post office by 5- only to have this location closed and locked more than 10 mins early. So frustrating.
I'm unsure her name but the attendant today was amazing. Super helpful and quickly helped me. I was truly having a rough day so when she asked how I was doing I was struggling to answer but she spoke compassion and empathy into me and my situation. Her words were more touching than she'll ever know and really made a huge impact in my day. Thank you.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. I've never been to a post office where a worker responds to "I need to create a label" with "I'm lost, I don't understand what you need."
If I could give the Roland Park Post Office a zero, I would. This past Saturday I stopped there to buy stamps. You would think a post office could sell a customer some stamps. Oh contrare. The clerk could not sell me a book of stamps advising this was not her normal office. Like that mitigated the preposterous service. Thinking that it was a Saturday, and that had something to do with the ridiculousness, I returned on a Wednesday only to be given the same litany by the same clerk! Is it any wonder the Postal Service is wallowing in massive debt, given the inexcusable service they offer? Just sad and reprehensible.
Miss Carter is the best — friendly, respectful, efficient. I actually look forward to dropping packages just to tell her hello. It’s a small post office with always only one attendant, so lines are long during the busiest hours; but Miss Carter works hard to get everyone through asap. When I’m lucky enough to encounter no line, I always have really enriching exchanges with her, no matter how brief. Otherwise I just drop my labeled box and I’m in and out in 5 seconds. I sense that other visitors are uplifted by her demeanor as well — she really prevents the “government drag” vibe that many of these facilities suffer from, especially in Baltimore City. Thanks Miss Carter, you are appreciated!
The workers were so nice and helpful during the holiday season!
Me: "hello, I got an email saying my package is here, ready for pickup" Post office lady: "can I get the tracking number?" Me: "sure its tracking number" POL: "ok looks like it will be out for delivery today" Me: "but its here now? And the usps email says i can pick it up?" POL: "yes its here now, but you can't pick it up. It will be delivered later today" Me: "since i came here at the direction of your organization to get my package, and we both know its here, can i just please ask you to get it for me now?" POL: "nope you have to wait" --End scene--
I have never had a better experience at a post office. I am thrilled it is close to my house. The woman who is regularly there is fun and funny. She treats people like anyone would want to be treated - with value.
