USDA South Building Cafeteria

Definitely the cheapest meal out in this part of Washington. I had 6 large tasty chicken wings and a side of Jamaican style cabbage for less than $7. They start closing up at 3pm (despite the times shown at the time of this review), I showed up just after three and was able to grab a plate of what little was left. Buffet style food, your plate is weighed, which is great if you're a meat eater, but not as great a deal if you're a vegetarian. I'm fortunately an omnivore, so it worked out greatly in my favor. As a visitor you must enter through Wing 3 on the north side of the building, near the middle.

Great food! I would expect nothing less than great from the United States department of Agriculture. You don't need to be an employee! Just go through security and say that you are going for lunch. It's a pay by weight buffet system.

This has got to be the best kept secret in Washington DC. A HUGH buffet hundreds of choices and only $7.20 per pound. My new favorite lunch experience.

My family and I were looking for a place to eat after a long morning of sightseeing. A employee at the Holocaust Museum suggested we try this cafeteria and we were pleasantly surprised. Lots of options for all different palates. Only con was that they didn’t not have any high chairs available (but I can’t blame them since this is a business facility and not geared towards tourists).

Wonderful place to enjoy a lunch that is nutritious, delicious, healthy and affordable! The quality to price relationship is understated. For the quality you get, the price is truly a bargain. Highly recommended for a wonderful experience of buffet-style, world cuisine at the heart of the Nation's Capital. 5-star experience.
