We really like this place was very interesting on how the Cajuns arrived and the history of the Creoles and the buildings that they were residents of. We really enjoyed the interaction with the people that were dressed in. Costumes they seem to be very knowledgeable about their subjects and very informative.

This is a very interesting recreation of an Acadian village on the bayou. We took the tour and learned a lot of the history in this area. It is a living history attraction so the workers are dressed in period clothes and performing activities of the time. The tour guide tried to answer our questions. It was disappointing that not all the craftspeople were working on the Saturday that we visited. A big plus was the Cajun jam, great music. Well worth going when a jam is in session.

Collection of homes, school, church, and forge from late 1700 to 1900. They have people in nearly every house. Small nature/weather museum. Really neat and nicely maintained. Small ferry for people to use themselves.oops. almost forgot. Also a very friendly donkey...the sheep think their to good to be petted.

There is quite a lot to see here in the different houses and structures. We enjoyed its rural feel and there were artisans demonstrating skills and crafts which was interesting. But be careful over timings for closure etc. We had also planned to have coffee/lunch there but arrived to find restaurant closed with no information on the web that could have allowed us to organise better and not arrive hungry for walking round. It is quite remote so no alternative eateries available. Eat first!.

Nice living history setup. Some crafts for sale, some of which are made on site. The living history reenactors are knowledgeable about the structures and artifacts and life in the period portrayed. Beautiful grounds. Half off adult admission for active military and dependents.
