These guys do quality work, care bout you the customer and are not trying to sell you a bunch of stuff you don't need. I had a pretty high end bike serviced and they did a great job. When issues were found in the parts they were concerned with making sure that they were replacing them with a fit for service replacement. They told me when the bike would be done and they completed when they said they would. Great shop for any style and any brand bike. Pretty sure if you bought your bike a Walmart and it says Huffy they will still service it with the same integrity as a $10K race bike. Great job!
Update summer 2022... Rick, Bjorn, & team tuned my bike for a hilly race at Escape from Alcatraz in San Francisco. They fixed an issue with the front derailleur and made sure I was shifting smoothly. Literally couldn't have gotten through the race without the adjustments. Much appreciated! These guys are the best. Rick & his team did a great job tuning my road bike before a big race Oct 2021. They were able to get it done in time even though a couple of parts had to be replaced. The confidence that my bike was in top condition helped me on my way to a PR! The Vintage Cycle group rides are also great- friendly group of people!
Bjornapologies if I butchered this and Ian were absolutely amazing, got my wheel true and straight within 10 minutes. I sincerely messed it up, and they were more than happy to help me out. Great prices great store, great employees! I hope they expand because we definitely need more stores like this period!!!
I just started helping Rick out with the repairs recently as a part timer. Being a seasoned wrencher, I am very impressed with Rick’s personal wrenching skills and also his determination to complete repairs properly and in a timely fashion. Rick goes out of his way to make sure the service department has every tool that is required to get these repairs done correctly. Everyone knows bicycle repair prices aren’t cheap and rarely free, but you can feel secure knowing that your investment is in good hands here and that it will be looked after and cared for just like a newborn baby. Go here!
I just had my childhood bike basically restored here after not riding it for 15 or more years. They did great work and made it ride like brand new again. They do everything they can to make their customers happy and I’m definitely a happy customer! It did need one small adjustment while I was there, and they took care of it on the spot and made sure I was happy with it before leaving. If I need anything bike related in the future, I will definitely be coming back here! Every interaction was always happy and helpful.
This is exceptional bike store. I love how professional and well trained the young employees are. It is clear that the store owners/managers take a great deal of pride in what they do and that they train their employees and treat them well. Their products and services are high quality and affordable.
Honest, good, knowledgeable people. Both Rick and his staff where really helpful and informative during the buying process. We felt really confortable and you can tell they know bikes and ebikes! After ordering the bikes they'd keep us informed about the order progress and ETAs and even went the extra mile to build one of our bikes last minute so we could pick up both of them at the same time saving us a lot of time and travels.
Both employees that helped me with my bike repair were super helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this shop for bike repairs!
Small shop, huge heart. Not only is Rick a great bike mechanic, he’s also a wonderful human being. Genuinely nice, really cares about his customers and his quality of work. OUTSTANDING service. Let’s be real, it’s all about service these days. Getting taken care of in a timely manner with quality work, fair pricing and good selection of products is what it’s all about. Vintage goes above and beyond in all of these areas. He supports local trails and bicycle initiatives. He hosts clinics and social rides, he volunteers at local cycling events. The shop is very convenient, easy in and out, right off the 249 freeway. I highly recommend Vintage Cycle. Hard to find a better shop with better service in Houston.
Dropped off a used kids Specialized bike that we intended to give my son for his 6th birthday. The bike needed quite a bit of work, so when his birthday rolled around, I called to inquire about when it would be finished. They said it wouldn’t likely be ready until the next day. Fast forward to a few hours later, I got a call from Rick saying he was staying late on a Friday at that! to make sure the bike was finished in time for my son’s birthday. He doesn’t even know us, but he made sure to go above and beyond so that our son would have a happy birthday.
