In town for work for the week. I asked if I could come for a class or two. They welcomed me into their gym with open arms. Nice guys and gals, technical and detail focused. We rolled no gi and it was a great workout. Wish I had more time to roll again before my next assignment. Thanks again!

I started training at Vortex Martial Arts Gym a little over six years ago. As an older person starting my martial arts journey it wasn't easy but my coach Mick Williams showed great patience. He is one of the most knowledgeable Martial artists in the region. He is one of the best teachers I have ever had the pleasure of learning from. He pushes everyone to be a better Martial artist and he is genuinely interested in how we are doing away from the gym. I love the diverse group I get to train with. They welcome everyone here.

Mick Williams, the owner of Vortex, is one of the most knowledgeable and credentialed martial arts instructors in Bloomington. He's also a superb teacher and an outstanding person.
I recommend him and his crew. It's a great bunch of people and a great school!

Mick was my first jiujitsu teacher and his warmth and enthusiasm set me at ease from day one, laying the foundation for a lifelong love of martial arts. I can't recommend Vortex enough, whether your goal is competition, self-defense, fitness, or just fun.

Vortex is where I first began my BJJ training, and I believe this is the place to go in Bloomington if you want friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate instructors. Even though I've moved away, I make an effort every time I come into town to stop in and train.
Highly recommend!
