I’ve lived here since Jan 2022. WestLofts is one of the most amazing apartments I’ve ever lived in. The exposed brick and metal stairs are beautifully rustic and industrialized. The building is a restored high school and the halls are wide and sleek. You have a doorman 24/7 who is always so helpful, Cook and Phil are two of my favorites! The clubhouse lobby has games and lounge chairs with TV and kitchen. Amazing vibes. The staff is always professional and courteous. Maintenance is ALWAYS on top of things and friendly! Never left me waiting for more than a day. Laundry rooms on every floor I believe. A bike room and elevators. VERY pet friendly! I love the constant doggie traffic. They have an on-site dog park as well. Oh and a MAGNIFICENT indoor gym! No more excuses of traffic and weather to keep me from attending. The location is prime and street parking is usually pretty easy to find a spot; if you get in after 7pm usually have to park a block or two out but it’s never that far. I freaking love it here and would happily move into a bigger unit and stay for many years. One of the downsides would be that because the hall is so big, people and pets are very loud especially at night. The halls echo quite badly. I live on the first floor near the door and elevator so it can get quite loud but I’ve gotten used to it. But that’s probably my biggest “complaint” and it’s just not a bid deal to me but if you have kids, maybe consider living on a higher floor.
Giving this a 3 because my experience has been in the middle. I’ve been here since April 2022. my apartment is gorgeous, lots of sunlight and windows and an ideal loft. Maintenance is amazing— very responsive and helpful. Reception is mostly very cool people, very polite. But there is one guy who has a terrible attitude mostly when asking for your packages and to multiple people that have come here to visit me. I’m always polite and I think it’s basic people skills to reciprocate that. Last thing— please tour during fall/winter months to see if the temperatures will be a deal breaker for you. we have big beautiful windows, but it is quite drafty and the heat feels ineffective in the living space. Property management will not be helpful with this. I’m not sure what can be done, this is my first time living in a space with such large windows with poor insulation but this is an issue amongst many tenants. This will be my first winter here and it’s already quite drafty in October. I will likely have to hire a third party service to assist with this issue or be uncomfortable in my home until spring.
This is one of the most beautiful apartments I've ever viewed. I give my experience with Erika leasing agent a 5 star! So patient, so polite, and shares great information about the building. If you are looking for moving to Philadelphia and looking for a great place to stay....take a chance and stop by and take a look. Didn't think I would be interested at first but had a change of mind after viewing!
I lived here the entire time I lived in Philadelphia and I loved it, couldn't have asked fro a better building. My neighbors were nice, the dogs got along really well and my dog loved running around in the dog park area. The building was always clean and the staff was super friendly and always more than willing to help me out. I felt safe coming home like I had people watching out for me living alone. Even though I've since moved out and left Philly, they were still very helpful. I needed a reference letter for my dog and while it was a first for them, they were happy to help out. Grateful to have found such a gem in Philly, it can be a cold city.
Went in for a tour of a 1BR. The person at the front desk was super friendly, lobby was beautiful. However, the leasing agent was extremely condescending. Blamed me for a glitch in the system, kept telling me there was nothing available for May/June despite pulling up multiple availabilities on their own website. I'm convinced that they just didn't like me for some reason and were trying their best to keep me from moving in... It was successful because I don't want to live somewhere where the manager is so rude.
Stayed here through airbnb and absolutely loved it. My boyfriend wants to move to Philly and we are now considering these apartments. The people are so friendly. I felt safe knowing there was a security person 24-7. There's a little dog park that secure for just the people in the building. My dog wanted no parts but it was still convenient. I LOVED the full size gym in the building and all the amenities close by in walkingdistance: rite aid, gas station, coffee shops, tennis court, grocery store, and car wash. My only complaint is there is NO parking.
If I could give this apartment complex a 0 I would. But google doesn’t allow that. The lady who met with us was wearing a blue and white polka dot dress with a pink scarf and she was very rude and condescending. Acted like my partner was stupid even though we proved her none sense wrong many times. Their system was “glitchy” supposedly even though we had a confirmation email she then said we needed a text even though my partner called this morning many times and no one was at the desk. When we got there the listings we were supposed to look at were not available, which was fine, but we explained in the website - THEIR WEBSITE - there were available listings for May and June, but she kept saying none were available and what we were saying wasn’t true and kept saying we had to look at their website. regardless if we couldn’t go in because people lived there we were willing to see it after the move time that was in the site but she kept insisting there was no such thing. when we showed her the available listings on THEIR WEBSITE she kept making up nonsense once again. i think she just didn’t want to be proven wrong and so she became very unprofessional and rude. I’ll never be looking at this place again and advise others not to as well because they lie and they don’t know what they’re doing.
I really enjoyed my apartment here. The one I got was spacious and well temperature controlled. They location is nice and there are lots of dogs which is fun. The management has been very accommodating to me and I appreciate it.
West Lofts was my home for two years. The staff are wonderful people, as are so many of the members of the apartment community. Rachel, in leasing, is always super helpful and quick to respond. My apartment rarely had any issues that I needed maintenance for, and if I did, the maintenance team was so helpful and friendly. I miss the front desk security staff very much, I got used to seeing them every day! My favorite part about the building was that there was a dog park area in front which allowed me to meet other dog owners and make friends in a city where I knew no one. Super convenient location--walking distance to Penn or you can pop on the 42 bus. The 21 bus is also a block away, and the train is less than a 10 minute walk. A few restaurants close to the apartments recommend Daleng and Manakeesh! and shops and more restaurants located on Baltimore a short walk away. Happy to answer any questions if you are considering living there!
Lived here for two years from 2018 to 2020. All of the building staff are great. The gym is also very good for an apartment building gym. The on street parking is also actually pretty decent. It seems like there were some issues when the building was first renovated but we didn't have any problems when we lived here and the maintenance staff were always very quick and responsive.
