Pros: Small, protected from all but northerly winds, nice people. Great hurricane hole!!Inexpensive way to be in the greater Boston area(1 1/2 hour drive). On one of four well maintained moorings. Short dinghy ride to shore or park to walk dogs. Cons: industrial surrounding, can be a bit noisy. Need to plan exit/arrival based on tide and opening bridge( hourly). Marina facilities are toilet , water, electricity if at slip. Shallow at slip for 5'+ draft. Non functioning showers. Outdoor only for gathering on deck. Need to cross very busy Route 6 to get dogs to park if you don't dinghy around.

Whaling City Marina, is a great little Marina. It's perfect for a family, or just a single boater. I've had a slip there going on four years . Mike the owner , is always there to help. I sail a catboat, and I have a perfect spot to sail from. Marinas rates are very competitive. In fact it's probably the best bargain in the Buzzards Bay area . Depending on how tall your boat is, you may have to wait for the bridge which opens on the hour. It is the safest marina during a hurricane, in all of Buzzards Bay.period!
