This location has a decent variety of organic selections for such a small store, but if you're from a larger city you will definitely notice the lack of many usual items.
The amount of produce is great and the seafood is some of the best in the area. The meat department, however, is lacking and is less diverse than a normal grocery store's.
The staff here though, they alone earn this location's fourth star - they are the image of "southern charm", so friendly, helpful and inviting.

Good selection of food. High prices which is why Whole Foods gets called Whole Paycheck. The mac and cheese bar had at least 11 types of mac and cheese, but between the 2 of us that tried at least 7 of them, we were greatly disappointed. Likewise on the bbq chicken, which was dry.

They aren't kidding about the Whole Paycheck moniker. You could really lose the whole thing here. However, they do offer coupons, check by the door, their sandwiches are yummy, their sushi... for a grocery option... pretty dang good. They also offer this thing called a "case price." When you have an overgrown kid who goes through at least 2 gallons a milk a week, being able to stock up on hormone-less organic that has a decent expiration date for 10% off the price of 4 regular... worth it.
Addendum: prices have gone up, food quality way down. It takes a pretty atrocious meal to get me to toss food, and I ended up tossing a salad. How do you screw that up? For the price we paid for picnic fare for two people, we could have gone to a five star restaurant...twice

The food is delicious. That being said, I went there and eyes were viciously assaulted by a hairy arm pitted and legged hippy who smelled like stale pita chips and day old refried beans. She waved at me as she stacked apples, I am pretty sure she wanted to follow me home and check my pantry for organic non GMO peanut butter and canned goods. I found it creepy. No employees are that cheerful. Have you ever seen that Robin Williams movie where he develops film and hes really nice and everyone loves him and they find out hes a vicious serial stalker? That's her but instead of meticulous hygiene and a conservative attire it is wrapped in thrift clothes hemp necklaces and birkenstocks.

I never used to shop at Whole Foods prior to moving to Columbia. Since Amazon purchased the company, I have loved it. The customer service at this location is amazing. Every single associate I have encountered has been friendly, pleasant and helpful. I do most of my "food allergy" shopping here and I would rather pay more for better food than buy cheap food that is full of chemicals and bad for you. I hate that this is how our food system works but it is what it is. I wish they carried Xyliwhite toothpaste and did not sell things with soybean oil but I think that's my only complaint. I tried their in house juices today and I loved them. Also their brand ofhummus is THE BEST. They are also the only place I have found soy free chocolate. A lot of their prices are pretty comparable on some items. A dozen organic eggs at Wal-Mart (ewww) is the same price as pasture raised small family farm eggs at Whole Foods. Do your research and shop around.
