Beautiful hotel at a reasonable price near the airport. Go the extra mile - you'll be glad you did! Check in woman was lovely and helpful with dinner picks. Room was updated and clean. We couldn't stay for breakfast, do no comment there. The check out woman was very rude. We said we wanted to split the bill on two credit cards 2 sisters traveling together. She gave us the dumbest look, like we were crazy. Her mouth just dropped open. We are very active travelers, in this country and abroad. We have literally split rooms and costs all over the world. If diners can do it T mom and pop joints, I would expect more from Wingate. She made no effort. I just paid it and my sister wrote me a check. Wingate, please educate your employees to at least try to provide customer service. 9/27-28/22
After reading some of the reviews my husband and I were sceptical as whether to book here or not but we took a chance. Some people had a bad experience with the night clerk some shared her name so we prepared ourselves. As it turned out, the lady at the desk was cordial and very professional. She was working alone so you either needed your room key to enter or she let you in. While we were checking in, a customer was leaving out. Before the door closed another gentle walked in and the employee addressed his status. He was not a customer but needed water. The employee, Pima is her name, brought it to his attention that the hotel and all inside of it was for customers only. The gentleman quietly left. Seeing her address the issue made me feel safer and more comfortable about our stay. Our room was nice and the building was quiet for. Friday night which was also Veteran's Day. The bed is very firm but it was only for one night. Breakfast offered many choices except for the meat which was turkey sausage. Not a fan. Overall, this hotel was a good choice and we will definitely stay here again upon our return to Charlotte.
I wish I could respond to Todd who responded to my original review but the system doesn’t allow me to do so. The reviews are intended for you to correct the deficiencies at the hotel. Placing blame on the customer doesn’t help. I had mentioned previously that I had booked through a customer agency that appeared in my Google search when I put in “hotels which allow early check in”. I had confirmed multiple times with the reservation agency that early check in was possible since I had called other hotels previously who didn’t allow early check in. I couldn’t say here or there if you were informed or not, I know the customer agency said you were. My issue is the poor customer service by your front desk clerk others have mentioned her poor service also and the manager yelling at me over the phone telling me what he wasn’t going to do. In a lobby full of customers it was very unprofessional. The disregard for my five month old son and my family was just the icing on the cake for us. Your hotel may be “clean” I wouldn’t know since I didn’t stay there but the employees needed refresher training in hospitality. That’s your entire profession and the hotel couldn’t even get that right nor provide a viable response to my original review.
Clean rooms with comfortable beds. The staff was very kind to me even when i needed odd accommodations. The breakfast is only ok but is easily accessible and free. Checkout was also a breeze.Rooms: 5/5
Female employee at night check in dismissive. Unprofessional. Called in advance. Requested pack and play be set up in our room upon arrival. Employee supposedly added it to the reservation. It was not in the room and/or set up upon arrival/check in. It was also filthy. Managment is POOR. Todd Blanton GM has poor communication skills. Poor problem-solving skills. Threatened to evict us from the hotel because of our complaint related to the above. He was also dismissive and argumentative.
The lady at the front counter pointed out I had made a handicap reservation. I asked could I fix it she says nope nothing at all you can do. So my thing is why point it out if there is nothing you are willing to do to help fix it. But the room was okay I didn't have any problems with the room. Better customer service when you point out something to customers
I live 20 miles from this hotel. I had a reservation booked a week in advance with my Wyndham points. I showed up to check in to be told I didn't live far enough away to stay at this hotel. They don't look at the reservations to call me earlier to cancel it. I had to live 50 miles away. It made the Christmas party I was attending that evening a little less enjoyable as I didn't have a place to stay.
Rooms were very clean, I slept well and location is close to the highway along with the free continental breakfast overall will d will definitely stay here again Rooms: 5/5
What makes this place get 5 stars is the staff especially Rosa at the front desk very polite, professional, and a great smile she is awesome! The walls in the rooms aren't the cleanest but otherwise clean the pool is nice
The absolute worst customer service ever. My friend works for the company and got a discount code their tone of voice was so rude and condensing to a fellow employee Greensboro and I was in town to watch my uncle passed away. We gave them the code the front desk agent - only took $20.00 off and acted like if we had employee discount it would effect their check. Be kind Everyone is fighting a battle- I can pay for the room- the nastiness the morning person too1/28/23 was so uncalled for. I will never stay there again , I travel alot, and will ost on FB, Insta, etc about the rudeness.
