I would stay here again!!! My experience was an overall great one. The room was clean, the staff was friendly. So you'll know, this is a pet-friendly hotel or at least it was when I was there. My room neighbor had two gorgeous dogs that were very friendly and obedient. The only time I heard them bark was when they needed to go outside. That's a credit to the dog owners however, it reflects on the hotel as well. Again if I have to be within that area of Charlotte, I would definitely stay here again.
Stayed at this hotel with my husband for the Thanksgiving holidays, November 27th-December 1st. Our stay was less than desirable. The pictures and information on the website was very deceptive; because when we arrived and were assigned a room, the quality of the room was not what we saw in the pictures. The hotel was dusty see picture attached. And it just seemed like the pictures online were highly edited and filtered, compared to the raw, low quality reality in person. On the third morning, following Thanksgiving, the hot water went out and the drain was clogged. While the front desk staff was nice enough to give us another room, the same issue occurred in the “new room”; and they did not have maintenance staff available, even though the holiday was over. On our final morning, we asked if they would hold onto our bags for the day while we go get food and run errands. Most hotels provide this service. Hawthorn suites would not. This was a very disappointing experience.
This place is AWESOME!!!! My KW was broke down at dealership. Everybody from the manager to the front desk, the cleaning crew and maintenance are awesome people. On Tuesday-Thursday they do a dinner and complementary beer and wine, and juices for all the guest that is included in your stay and breakfast every morning. The rooms were clean and stocked very well. The beds are very comfortable. From what I can tell all rooms have a kitchenette in them full size fridge, microwave, dishwasher and 2 burner stove flat screen TVs and very hot water with great pressure. I hope my truck breaks down in this area again because this is where I'd be staying at again. This place also seemed to have the best nightly rate compared to other hotels around. Big thanks again to ALL the employees here for making this such a great experience here and making all your guest feel so welcome here. I WILL be back again.
I am really pleased with this hotel. First and foremost, it is clean! It's also simply and tastefully decorated, smells good and the room is spacious. I wasn't too sure after reading mixed reviews but, I would definitely stay here again. I can't say how the price adds up since my Homeowners Insurance is paying, but I'm thinking they the insurance company are not going to pay some ridiculous amount, so it must be reasonable!
My flight was cancelled and this was the only place with vacancies. If you aren’t particular about cleanliness and modernization than this is the spot for you. The place is a mess, as soon as you walk in the lobby you can tell. They try to hide It but the Chipped paint, outdated yellow fridge and stinky foul odor can not be hidden. I didn’t even stay the whole night, and with one tinkle my toilet stopped up. However, Elizabeth at the front desk was so nice. It is a cheap hotel though so I guess it’s to be expected. I wouldn’t have stayed here if it wasn’t due to the weather limiting my options. Everyone is different though I’m just very particular about hotels.
I do not write reviews however I felt that this experience needed to be shared. I booked with them through a third party site as a 'three star hotel'. When I arrived, the main lobby smelled like smoke. But I gave it the benefit of the doubt because I had booked a non-smoking room. After the usual check in procedures, we went up to the room trying to disregard the dirty carpets and the stagnant smell in the hallways. The room also had the same musty smell and at that point it became clear that this was not a 'three star hotel' as they had advertised through the third party site. We immediately returned downstairs to ask about the accommodations. My friend went the Hawthorne's direct hotel website and discovered that it was actually a 'two star' hotel and that they had multiple complaints as recent as yesterday about the lack of hot water and sanitation. Our fears confirmed, we did not feel comfortable and asked for a refund to book another hotel for the night. The front desk staff stated that the "three star' rating was due to the hotel's amenities and that they were indeed a 'three star' hotel. She also refused to issue a full refund because we had 'checked in' and used the room. We could not have seen the room and noted the conditions without checking in and we never used the room - we had opened the room door and immediately exited to return downstairs to check out. This experience has given me no choice but to never stay at a Wyndham hotel again.
The room was clean, but the AC barely cooled the room. We informed the lady at the front desk and she said it was nothing they could do. They just offered us a fan to use. The bed was not as comfortable as I would have liked it to be. Also, there was only a sauce pan in the kitchen and no other pots to cook with. The dryers in the laundry barely dried the clothes, so I had to dry them three time costing $1.50 per dry per load. Not a pleasant stay at all.
Computers were down when we arrived. We can understand when things happen, but their contingency plans were lacking severely they will not accept $25 cash deposit for incidentals the only thing you could even charge to the room was phone calls. It took them 30 minutes to get phone authorization on one of our 3 credit cards for $25. Despite each card having plenty of balance left. Clearly an error on their end and yet they still would not let us check in to our prepaid room.. Finally able to get in the room and find the non smoking room with a strong smoke odor. We go back to the front and they offer another room which is even worse. We stay in the initial room and hope for the best on our one night stay. No luggage rack or side chair to put our suitcases on. Only a side table on one side of the bed. Very small TV. Not happy.
Wonderful experience! Very friendly staff from everyone at the front desk, housekeeping, and dining. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. Complimentary dinner and drinks and buffet breakfast. Nice gazebo area to enjoy the outdoors. Nestled in a nice area at the end of a street of other hotels. Very quiet and peaceful. Will definitely be staying here again when going back to Charlotte and highly recommend!
The stay wasn't bad. We reserved our room with a card but at checkout we paid cash. The clerk told us that the printer was down and couldn't get us a receipt but that the hold on the card would be released. Liar liar. Over 2 weeks and monies have yet to be to be given back. Looks like we paid twice for the room. I promise it's the last time we stay there.
