I decided on a whim to visit the Apache-Sitgreaves park.  Our ultimate destination was Woods canyon lake.  We came up from the valley to escape the hear for a day.  It was well worth the almost three hour drive.  The 20 degree drop in temps was perfect.  Our goal was to Hike around the lake.  We did just that after a nice lunch.  The hike was quite lengthy but never really strenuous.  The weather was perfect and the park was not busy, but Tuesdays during a school week are never busy.  Great place to visit.

I go here as often as I can. Lovely lake in any season. My favorite camp site is Spillway. Great for families with kids. ADA access in many places. Boat rentals. No swimming but good fishing. Nature trails and lots of wildlife. Great for camping or day trip.

Best views in Arizona are had on the Rim near here. The lake is awesome for casual hiking, fishing, picnicing etc. Must see spot and a great weekend area to have fun.
