My whole family has grown up on Gun Lake. We have spent many summers swimming at Yankee Spring Recreational Area. These beaches have always been a favorite for toddlers on up. Tons of people visit which means you have to park far from the beach sometimes. They have a concession, bathrooms at three locations and a blow up slide you can pay to ride...1$ for 1 slide or 5$ for 6 slides. You can rent boats or large foam rafts. The swimming area is sectioned off for safe swimming. I have a park pass which really helps on a spur of the moment run to the lake! I wish they had more trash bins for people when it gets busy and outdoor showers to spray off before you leave. Honestly I have never used the boat launch or trails because we live 45 minutes away, but thousands do all summer! Great for single families or large gatherings! Enjoy as we do!!!

Great place to go for a hike or mountain bike ride. Nicely equipped parking lot with a vault toilet that is very well maintained. Changing rooms available and a two mile warm up loop. Then you get to the real meat and potatoes with the big trail!! Enjoy and make sure to follow the daily trail direction.

great large sites, old growth trees, many Orioles in early spring, and the staff keep it clean and tidy. The lake is fabulous if you have young kids because it is sandy bottomed and shallow at the beach. Love to camp here

Very shallow water on main beach. Water warm by late May. Lots of picnic tables in the shade. No lifeguards. Decent concession.

So many options for trails here. You can pick your distance and have a great view. Places to stop and hammock and you can walk along the water.
