Had site 43 on north end loop. We are a big rig and this was an easy back in. View overlooking river with steep trail down to water. The river has lots of vegetation along it, so not much beach. Enjoyed wildlife viewing and the flush toilets were a plus. Restrooms: Flush
Total off the grid campground, but there is water it wasn't available as of 4/20/18, the host said it will be on next month. But it had a clean bathroom with flush toilet. Fishing was best in the early morning.
Decent lake access, but Lewiston Lake feels more like a little river here. Otherwise no complaints. Camp host was very friendly.
Really nice quite and well maintained camp ground! Would recommend this place!
Nice shade trees in site 15 and close to water but steep and loose rocks down to the water. We were able to put in our kayaks from the campground but, because it's so close to the dam, were unable to paddle upstream against the strong current. Bathrooms have flushing toilets but knobs were removed from sinks. No water elsewhere in the campground. Weekend after Memorial Day and very few campers.
Great proximity to Lewiston Reservoir up and down the campground. Some sites are extremely close, others require a short hike. There are about 10 small 4ft beaches, and a few larger ones; each is great for cooling off or fishing. Great for popup tents, small RVs and Trailers, and tents. Unexpectedly, a bunch of the sites have shade. Unfortunately the campground is located right next to Trinity Dam Blvd and trucks can be loud. As of June 2020 most of the bathrooms are closed, the water spouts are off, and the weeds are high.
My family has been camping in this campground for many years. Its truly a beautiful spot. Since its been managed by the current company the price per night keeps raising & there isn't any water available. The bathrooms were not useable during the last 2 days of our stay. Its also not posted that the septic disposal site is closed.
Absolutely love this campground. It's usually very quiet with little to no other campers. Beautiful Lewiston lake is just a few yards away so u can cast your fishing pole and relax or float down the current on a raft or kayak. Host never bothers you also.
We were recently at Ackerman Campground. It was such a shame all the water had been disconnected even in the bathrooms although the toilet still did flush. However, everything was grown over weeds in all the campgrounds beautiful mulberries and Pines were not getting any water because it had all been shut off. Also the dump station was no longer available very disappointing that this treasure at Lewiston Lake is getting so overgrown. The feds really need to come in and keep them maintained much better. There's a not a lot that the community of Lewiston to Trinity has to offer for recreation so it would be a shame to lose this one.
Really quiet for memorial day weekend. We really lime thus campground for dry camping in our trailer, water spigots throughout the campground and a dump station next to it.
