We stopped to see this and got a few mementos. Nice gift shop, museum was ok, and the Liv's Whispering Lane was very short and led to the field behind the gift shop where we had parked. We enjoyed walking around the property to see the barn and horses in the field. We didn't take the carriage ride to the beach since we were planning to visit Thunder Cove Beach just up the road.
Very nice walkable property to explore. $9 for adults to tour the house. Gift shop had some neat items. Not sure why tea room was closed. Enjoyed learning about LM Montgomery's life.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Nothing more than an over commercialized tourist trap. I have waited decades to see the home of LMM, to visit this historic part of Canadiana, not only was I underwhelmed, I was seriously disappointed with how the institution has become more about selling items than about respecting the significance of these great stories. Spend $18 Canadian for two people to go inside a house that has many rooms blocked off so you cannot go in to see and take pictures of the items behind doors, the entire visit house was maybe thirty minutes. The intro to the house was very short and basic information provided by someone who may know the history but was merely doing a job by the book. Speaking of which there is not only a store to purchase touristy things right inside the house, there is also an entire building dedicated to taking more of your money so you can own more stuff that may end up on a garage sale one day. There is also a food court kind of place in the separate building . As I said, it is over-commercialized and for that reason the enjoyment I thought I would have was noticeably ruined for me. Whatever this place once may have been, is long gone. Go if you must, but I would have rather spent my money on a lobster roll somewhere on the island than waste it on visiting Anne of Green products.
1 of my best discovery. Because i have watched the serie and read about it, then i was so excited to live the experience and imagine myself at this era of time. To see how they were living and what they used or how they used items. How they dress up. The village is so small but to walk distance is far.
I'd been here on a cruise excursion in July 2010, and have wanted to return ever since having my daughters. We didn't opt for the ride with Matthew around the pond, as the price was exorbitant. But the home is lovely and has so many great LM Montgomery artifacts! The gift shop has anything you could want as an "Anne" memento.
Such a lovely place! If you, like I, love to go to historic homes to see how things looked/were done, and you love Anne Shirley, I recommend checking this one out. A great exhibit, plenty of authenticity, and a nice gift shop. We wanted to do the carriage ride, but it was canceled due to high winds. So, we'll definitely put that on our to-do list next time we're on PEI.
The anne of green gables museum was beautiful, the landscape breathtaking and actual house was so lovely it wasn't busy and the staff were very friendly. My 11-year-old daughter and I loved it here.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
My friend and I booked an Anne of Green Gables trip through the Villa we are staying at. It came with tickets to the museum and we paid extra for a Matthew carriage ride. There was some mix up that was not the fault of the museum and no one knew we were coming. One of the Campbells herself made sure we were taken care of. Brought us Raspberry Cordial she made herself, got us on our carriage ride and showed us such kindness. We thoroughly enjoyed the history of the location. The carriage ride with “Matthew” was beautiful and enjoyable. We had great conversation with both “Matthew” and Mrs Campbell. Completely suggest this museum for any LM Montgomery or Anne of Green Gables fans.
House looks smaller than expected but well preserved place. The surrounding area has a nice trail and cafe. Gift shop has nice gifts selection too.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Exciting to visit the place after reading the books and watching the series! Beautiful place! The mustard plantation on the other side of the road makes the place even more fantastic.
