We are an artist supported consignment gallery, glass studio, and supply co-op bringing glass blowing and the borosillicate glass art movement directly to our audience. We have a huge selection of artistic glass pipes and locally crafted items. Most of our art is created in our studio where we currently have several stations for working hot glass, with room for painters, sculptors, musicians, and other artists to collaborate. Our gallery features works from varying artists, and our own collection of acquired works from local and national artists, labels and collectives. Located in Springfield, IL next to Skank Skates and The Black Sheep Cafe' we are developing a strong community and a safe place for artists of all kinds to create and market their work. Artifacts is a culmination of ideas and experiences put into one collective project : an artifact. We specialize in doing custom glass pipes and love a challenge so come in to talk with a glassblower about your personalized head piece. Lessons and workshops are available as well as a full apprenticeship program with owner and glass artist Mike Grit in our professional boro glass studio. If you are an experienced glass blower ask about studio rental on a daily or monthly basis.
