SAA Collective, a division of the Springfield Art Association, is an art gallery located in downtown Springfield and a professional hub for artists based in Springfield and Central Illinois. SAA Collective began as the Prairie Art Alliance in 1979 as an artists' support group called the Women's Art Alliance. Its purpose was to encourage and promote local women artists by providing exhibition opportunities, workshops, and artistic development. The Alliance incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1985 and changed its name in 1995 to reflect the admission of male artists. Beginning in 1996, it opened a gallery and classroom on the grounds of the Springfield Art Association, just north of downtown. In 2004, the PAA moved to downtown Springfield in the newly established Hoogland Center for the Arts, where it resides today.

In January 2016, the Prairie Art Alliance merged with the Springfield Art Association. This merger between Springfield's two largest visual arts organizations has inspire a new era of collaboration and fosters a unified spirit among the artists of Springfield.

One of the best art galleries in Springfield! It has a lot of local art, of a variety of mediums. The artists at Springfield Art Association have rotating displays of show pieces. It is a lovely place to get that one of a kind piece for yourself or as a gift!
Beautiful gallery with new and exciting items for purchase each time I visit. The gallery manager Barbie was super sweet and had the perfect answer to every inquiry I had about the artists and classes SAA offers. I highly recommend checking this place out!
Lovely art gallery. All local artists. Something for everyone. The collective offers all sorts of art classes for children and adults. If you are just visiting the Springfield area, the gallery is worth a stop.
The classes are fun and interesting and the staff are really kind. It's a great place to be at least once a week.
Lovely variety of locally crafted art including pottery, hlass, paintings, sculpture, photography and more. Worth a look.
A very nice place, went to a photography/art event and had a very enjoyable evening.
Went to an art reception here for the first time and it was great
