Asador Patagonia

I have been coming to Asador Patagonia for few years now. The ensalada rusa was a little bland, but other than that the food was good.Food: 4/5

Food is great, but the drinks are SOOOO overpriced. $19 for a Casa Amigos margarita and $16 per shot. Highway robbery. Plus a mandatory 20% tip the tip is applied after tax, which is wrong. Also we paid partially with card, partially with cash but were still charged the full “pay by card amount”, the amount should be a percentage of the check based on the total after the cash is calculated. AND THEN, after paying the bill, the receipt has a line to leave gratuity, it doesn’t specify “additional gratuity”, so they try to get a second tip.

Ok guys. Don’t be fooled from the outside. It looks like you are walking into a motel 6. Except it’s not, it’s a bar…psych!….keep walking! It opens up to a pretty nice restaurant! Of course we ate our food before I got photos. But we got some empanadas, the New York and a milanesa con puré. All were delicious! Then we got some desert to take home. Very happy we found this place!

We were charged $7+ to pay by a credit card and 20% was added to our check for gratuity without notice for 5 people. We tipped the server $68 very generous for a $210 check so all in all the server was tipped $110 OVER HALF THE CHECK ! When we called to request that the added gratuity be removed it was refused! " Your inability to read the check isn't our responsibility!" WOW We charged it back through the credit card company and they paid their sever $100+ , lost the cost of the food. More importantly we will never return! In this hungry market and an empty dining room on a Saturday night - they must be STUPID!!

We stumbled upon this place by accident and wow, we were so happy we did! Just delicious food. Absolutely great. Get the grille combo for 2 or more and also try some sweetbreads. Caipirinhas are a great choice to get you started. Literally one of the top 5 drinks in the world. Also, tell the server to bring more than normal of those bread rolls straight out the oven . Like bring twice as many. We ordered the fancy salmon and shrimp grille, but they brought the one below that with only the meats by mistake. It was ok because it was right off the grille! And perfect. And delicious. And they've got this blood sausage. I know it sounds gross, but it's amazing. They need some crusty bread and bit of chimichurri to serve that with. I could literally eat that as dinner and wash it down with a nice Argentinian red. You choose the type. Just go. You'll be glad you did.

I was really expecting more out of this place, maybe because we got there at the very end of the day. But the food wasn't that amazing, I will definitely give it another try hopefully I'll be impressed.Food: 3/5
