Would like to thank everyone who helped me with covid. From the emergency room crew angels the icu crew angels and the bosses of the hospital. Very good place to go. The South Shore hospital is a small family oriented place. I was in for 21 days icu. The docs and nurses were so strong and full of love. I'm even putting a shout out for the kitchen staff. Food is not hospital food.5 stars Ty to anyone else I missed. Christopher
Sunday found me in at ER with a spouse experiencing stomach issues. We found a comfortable area to wait for our turn as it seemed to be a very busy afternoon. While waiting is never easy for humans, we were grateful for professional, attentive staff throughout the process. Once able to be moved to a room and assessed the level of care and attention was in my opinion stellar. Nurse Lily was the BEST, she made sure he was comfortable and addressed any questions or concerns. Carefully explained what the procedures would be and tended to his every request with a great cheery smile. Our PA Lauren came to explain the need for the CT scan and bloodwork necessary. Explained the results carefully on the inflammation in the colon and diagnosis of diverticulitis. Dr. Goldberg came as well after to review the CT, answer any concerns and give direction on prescriptions, diet and follow up. The hard working staff from check in, transporters, phlebotomist and more were caring, mannerly and their compassion for the patient were evident. KUDOS to the entire team.
I came to this hospital last night because it was close and it was not busy at all. i was in the room for over 2 hours no one checked up on me, or let me know what was wrong with me i asked the nurses several times and said they would get someone and nobody did.. i finally just put on my clothes and walked out because i was so tired and had a horrible headache i was not helped at all. not to mention the heart monitor was beeping the whole time and i was trying to turn it off and it echoed throughout the whole downstairs and nobody thought to check on me. never again will i step foot in that hospital ever again.
I went to South Shore ER after taking a fall. The entire staff from the aid wheeling me in to all the nurses, Doctors and rest of the staff were very professional and friendly. I was discharged after all the tests in a couple hours. If I could I'd give higher than 5 stars
I came in with acute pancreatitis once and had to stay over night. In order to cure it I wasnt able to eat or drink. I could only have ice chips. Which I get but I had this sharp, knife jabbing sensation at the base of my skull. Which is because of low blood pressure. They had checked my blood pressure and bpm previously during the night but in the am after i had eaten and drank with the ok of the nurses, the pain persisted. I was crying and could barely turn my head to the side or up or down. They did not check my bpm or blood pressure before they released me and I wouldve asked if I had known thats why the pain was there but I didnt. My mother took me back in before we even stepped foot in the car. she asked if they could take my blood pressure since they didnt before releasing me but they said no because of liability. So we went to a different place to get my blood pressure checked and it was somewhere around 90/40. normal blood pressure is around 120/80. Mind you, i was on the verge of passing out. Some good nurses and some good doctors but the majority should not have a job working as a health care worker. Its shameful. Had too many family members go there and not come out in good condition. Please if it is a neurological emergency or a stroke or a heart attack, or aneurysm or anything like these things do not take loved ones here.
Terrible stay. Unprofessional staff unsanitary room. There was an bedbug in my bed I reported the bug they treated me like I was the person to bring it. This was the worse experience I’ve ever had in any hospital. I will never and I mean never EVER come back here AGAIN!!!!! Took me all the way down to the emergency department just to bring me back to the same room for a wheelchair bath
On December 12 2022 I presented myself with a so I thought a broken toe after dropping a 50#mirror on my foot. I had to explain to the doctor how to examine My foot. They took a x-ray and put a shoe on the foot Today
Had surgery less then 2 weeks ago, then had to have emergency surgery just yesterday and woke up at 2am with chest pain, and severe pain in the location of the surgery, which wasn't at all like before. Went in and was taken back pretty quick actually, but that's where the kindness and people basically stopped doing their job. I sat there for 5 hrs and even after having all the paperwork and giving it to them, which they obviously didn't look at, infact I was completely stunned they asked the questions they did after "taking the paperwork to read over". I never got results, I didn't get pain relief and I'm not a drug seeker, I just wanted to be able to rest, which is something I haven't been able to do, and find out if there were anymore blood clots, which again I never received the results from. Horrible horrible compassion. I will never go there again, I would rather make a drive to a hospital that actually cares about their patients
I went to this hospital for a CAT scan. I arrived early and they took me in ahead of schedule which was very nice. The RN who started my IV was in a different room and she infiltrated my vein. There was blood on my arm at the site and she taped over it. I then went to have the MRI and complained that the IV HURT. They kept telling me my arm was tender and all was well even though the saline test leaked all down my arm. They tested with saline again after changing the tape on the IV and again I said something was wrong and again I was told my arm was tender. Finally a real professional came in and put a new IV in my other arm and it worked perfectly. I wish I had gotten her name. All i remember we’re some tats on her arm and she was petite. Two hours later my arm is still swollen. This is my 4th CAT scan but my first and last at this place
It is never fun going to the ER!!!! Everyone is going to have a different experience however, the nurses, techs, physician's assistants, and the Drs here are incredibly nice. I know these people deal with difficult situations and difficult people everyday all day. The fact that they maintain their professionalism and kindness is amazing. I can't tell you how much it means to me. It's true the facility is not top notch it's not state-of-the-art it's not the best in the world but for a small facility, they do their very best to take care of everyone. It's under unfortunate circumstances that anyone has to make a trip to the ER and the fact that these people are kind caring and understanding cannot be understated. They get five stars for me simply because of their care, not their ability to give you the best state-of-the-art service but because of the kindness and thoughtfulness of the employees.
