I can't believe all the negative reviews. This place is a godsent. The best hospital I have been in. Not the best case manager for placement. But that's not their stelrong point. Medical care is phenomenal for the homeless.
Dr.Valdez is a great person. She listens to everything she doesn't make u feel like u are being judged because of mental health. Once I learned I could trust her I started to open up.for the very first time. I told her things no one knows not even my boyfriend of 14 years. Thank u
It was horrible!! When I went up to the window to speak to somebody after getting a number ticket from the machine I was told they were sorry they could not help me bc I wasn't in their system and didn't provide the services I was looking for even though they offered services to others who were looking for the same services I need. They told me to go elsewhere for their services that I was looking for even though there was a bunch of people around who were getting the services that I wanted but they kept saying that since I'm not in their system they can't help me I told me to go elsewhere.
Doctors nurses and medical staff are amazing.... However security and receptionists lack common courtesy and understanding of how to treat other human beings. Something needs to be done about the way the positions in which deal with patients the most show respect to clients. Have had several run ins that have left me disgusted by the lack of respect by lesser important staff members.
So I was sent here after being discharged from MGH while waiting to move into my new apartment. Was told i could recuperate there from a serious leg infection. I wasn't told I was gonna get strip searched and have all my belongings taken away from me and possibly thrown away. I thought this was a medical hospital not a prison. I refused to allow them to violate my rights at which point I was refused medical treatment and when I asked to leave the security refused to unlock the elevator so I could leave I had to argue with a staff member to get her to unlock the elevator. It's not ok to violate people's rights they have no legal right to search or seize you or any your property they are not law enforcement this is a medical treatment center...
For the best care, persons with drug or alcohol addictions need come here. Every BMC personnel I have ever encountered in my 5 years as an outpatient are kind, patient, and non judgemental. They are truly concerned for the welfare of each patient, dedicated to improve our homeless community, and always reliable to find the best type of help and personalized care they can offer. I feel at home and comforted here. I highly recommend BMC to anyone facing the hardship of drug or alcohol addiction and/or homelessness.
Awesome place literally saved my life
They tried to steal my bank debit card and I injured my foot and they really did nothing to heal it. If it was not for another homeless person I know, my foot would still be injured. Barbara McInnis House is useless.
The staff there are very courteous and extremely helpful. I've NEVER had any issues getting any care. Sometimes the patients cause a bit of commotion but no major issues. Considering all they have to deal with, each staff member handles each situation to the best of their ability. I've gotten better care here than I've EVER gotten at Boston Medical Center Boston City Hospital.
They need to hire more people to fill meds! The client load is too great to be time efficient! But is a great resource for the community!
