Great island camp serving all groups with dorm style housing in their lodge and cabins too. The food is made on site with an emphasis on local, healthy food to meet all needs. They also have an emphasis on being available for urban youth who aren't privileged to have these type of camp experiences. Beautiful hiking. Reasonably priced. Scholarships available for youth.
Bay Lake Camp is on a wonderful 50+ acre island on Bay Lake called Church Island. It's not so much a camp as a place where you can hold your own camp, and they will make you comfortable. Groups from church youth to 4H to homeless retreats spend time on the island. It's wonderful! The island is about 80% wild, and is under a conservation easement. There is generally a small herd of deer in the woods and they come visit frequently. There is a rough walking path around the island - not so much a Sunday stroll as a hike, but really marvelous. And if you're in the area on Sunday morning from Memorial Day to Labor Day, stop by for church. It's an outdoor ecumenical service and pontoon service is provided from the landing. This is one of my favorite places to be in the summer. Does it show?
Didn't like bunk beds in rooms. Could not even sit upright in my bed without hanging my head down. No lights near beds, dusty, cobwebs, food hit or miss. Second cook was terrible. Everything dried out and burned. Could not eat it half the time. He had no sense of putting a meal together.
I’ve been a camper, counselor and staff for this camp. It is a beautiful island and always a fun and relaxing time. They do weddings, family reunions, retreats and camps.
This is a great place and i think you should send your kids here
I would die for bay lake
