I had a lovely experience shopping at Bella Ceramica yesterday! Owner Claudio Luporini's passion and appreciation for the beautiful classic, colorful hand-painted Italian ceramic ware, not to mention the fine selection and craftsmanship of the entire collection, made it just a pleasant exchange. The store has been open on Piedmont Avenue for over 30 years. I received a vase/wine cooler for a wedding gift and Italian ceramicware is now my go-to gift for special occasions. This wonderful shop is full of the very finest hand painted ceramics from workshops in Italy where the ceramics have been created for hundreds of years. You touch something timeless in this store. And you hold Beauty in your hands. The quality of the ceramics you find at Bella Ceramica is exceptionally fine. The variety of things you can find , and the variety of colors and patterns is astonishing -- from plates and cups to clocks, lamps, umbrella stands! That's just a beginning! Very nice and large selection of authentic Italian products. I broke a "Name Plaque" we had purchased along the Amalfi Coast and my wife was upset. After an exhaustive internet search, only Bella Ceramica had anything close. Claudio was very helpful over the phone, assembled it for free, and then shipped it to Texas within 24 hours. Great store with wonderful Italian ceramics. Walk in and you feel like being in a small museum in Italy. And there is the equally wonderful owner, Claudio, who always takes time to explain you everything you want to know about any piece, small or large. One of my favorite stores in the East Bay.
