One Lucky Mutt was owned by Chris & Tracy Curran. The inspiration for One Lucky Mutt was their pup, Lucy, who began to have seizures at an early age. After being told that Lucy wouldn't live past the age of 3, the Currans began doing their own research and made the decision to take a "holistic" approach to Lucy's treatment as well as her and her siblings' way of life. This was the start of a seven-year journey of testing and learning about various natural treatments and diets. They recently lost their "one lucky mutt" at the age of 13 years, but she continues to be their inspiration.
Chris and Tracey decided to sell the store to a family owned chain of stores called Bentley's Pet Stuff, which is now a growing chain of small boutique pet stores like One Lucky Mutt.
