Absolutely amazing. If you’re into old school 80s and 90s architecture and or Vaporwave and retrowave styles and aesthetic this is a top place to visit. The challenge Arcade is an absolute labor of love and a blast to go to and the whole mall is clean and well up kept. All the stores are very nice and the Boscovs has quite a bit to offer. A great day visit.
So sad to see what this mall has become. Did not find one kind associate at any store. Absolutely filthy with young kids running wild spewing vulgarities while unsupervised. I don’t get scared easily but I literally felt unsafe this past visit and it was on a Sunday!
Sunday was Corvette day at the Mall. Cars from one end to the other.
I miss what this place used to be. Back in the late 90s early 2000s when I was a teenager, this was the place to hang out! Stores were great back then and now it's all no name stores well for the most part. I wish they'd bulldoze it and make something really great with this space!
Sadly not a whole lot of malls left but Berkshire mall is still here and a great place to shop especially in bad weather. A couple stores are closed which is sad but hopefully they get filled and the mall stays around. 2 nice fountains at both ends of the mall and a great place for old people to 'mall walk' in the morning. Apparently people do that before malls open. Nice benches and trees throughout and I never get stopped by annoying vendors like some of the bigger malls. Nice food court. Mall is never crowded anymore which is nice for shopping but unfortunately probably not great for business.
Hardly any stores open. Boscovs is the anchor store. That is the only store I go to. The rest of the mall is not worth the trip. So sad, at one time it was a thriving mall but no more. They should tear it down and build something worthwhile like apartments for seniors. That would be useful. Berks County and Pennsylvania doesn't do enough for seniors.
As much as I love this mall, I have to admit that it’s been going downhill lately. The area is still clean, but a lot of the major shops have closed BonTon, Sears, etc.. Despite this, it still has some noteworthy stores, like Boscovs, Kay Jewelry, and multiple clothing and shoe outlets. It’s still an enjoyable place to walk around with an Auntie Anne’s pretzel, but it’s definitely not in its prime like it used to be.
It was a cool little mall. Lots of shops, some are still closed. I actually went to the mall to adopt a puppy from. Your Pet Experts. When I arrived there were no puppies there. When I asked the girl how much puppies go for she said puppies start at $1200-$1700. This place obviously sells puppy mill dogs. I say do not buy a dog from them. Instead adopt a shelter animal from your local shelter. I didn't know places like this still existed but there it was. Moving on the rest of the mall was nice and clean and has a second floor food court.
As a local this place has been falling off lately but there are enough stores to get by with shopping for most occasions, including Christmas! Got a little bit of everything for everybody. Been enjoying the new arcade and one of the newer stores called “The Morgue”, very nice people run both places and overall the mall is very nostalgic for me.
This is truly sad for me to say, but I believe that the berkshire mall is a mall on the way out. There are so many vacant stores, and so many of them left to go to other locations it truly is sad. I grew up in Wyomissing, and I fondly remember the greatness of that mall when it was fully stocked and flourishing. Now it is a shell of its former self waiting to die off. Truly a shame.
