Bethesda Women's Mental Health is a premier outpatient psychiatric private practice specializing in treating women. Bethesda Women's Mental Health was founded by Dr. Harita Raja in Bethesda, MD. She is a reproductive psychiatrist, focused on psychiatric problems before, during and after pregnancy and throughout the life cycle. She specializes in the hormonal changes that occur from menses to menopause. Dr. Raja works closely with her patients and their loved ones to find the right treatment plan to address these issues.
Dr. Raja received her medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. She completed her psychiatry residency at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital, in Washington, DC, after serving as a chief resident in her final year.
She has published numerous articles and a book chapter about women’s mental health. Dr. Raja has also presented her work at various local and national meetings. She is a member of the Women’s Mental Health Consortium. Dr. Raja is dedicated to educating women about mental health and their options for care.
