We came down to see both our fathers an Nicole's mom this place is always so pleasant it's always kept clean for our fallen Heros our Dad's. R.i.p
I can not thank Brigadier Cemetery enough for the beautiful and respectful tribute they offered my uncle, a Vietnam Vet. The service at their chapel was simple, much like the man himself, but the flag presentation was emotional, and very respectful of the family. I was impressed with the beautiful cemetery he is laid to rest at, and appreciate how well maintained it is.
I have noticed lots of negative comments about this cemetery. My father was buried here in June 2012 and my mother, brother and myself could not have been more pleased with the respect and dignity that my father received at his commitment ceremony near the memorial walk and pond. Followed by the naval honor guard folding and presenting the flag to my mother as taps were being played in the woods behind us. Nine years later, September 2021 my mother joined my father for their eternal rest "together in heaven forever". Even though my mom was non-military she was treated with the same respect and dignity by the entire staff at commitment shelter Z. I find this place to be very peaceful and beautiful for a final resting place. The grounds and facilities at this cemetery are always clean and well maintained. The map and grave locator is a big help in finding a specific grave. I currently live in Florida and do not get back to NJ that often but I visit every time I do. Just today I called to see if the grave marker had been updated with Mom's info. The gentleman that took my call thanks Joe took my information and told me he would go out to the grave site and check and would call me back or take a photo if it was. Fifteen minutes later I get a picture of the new grave marker in a text. Just one example of the wonderful people and staff that take care of this beautiful somber place of rest. THANK YOU ALL!
My dad was buried on 3-11-2023 and I wasn't fully aware of the rules of what can be put on the grave. I went 2 weeks later and put something sentimental there and when I went back again it was gone. So it's just fake flowers in the cup in the ground or a flag no other decorations. I think we should be able to put decorations for holidays, birthday, etc. Other then that I'm glad I buried my hero at this cemetery!
My Mother, Father, Sister and Brother all buried here and all served in the Army or Navy. Very impresssed with this place, from memorial service to burial. Love the flags on each and every grave for special military holidays and will be going to see the family for this Memorial Day.
Wasn't going to post about this but... My mother and father, after 2 years and backlogs with the VA, were laid in thier final resting place today. I can not express the care, respect and how helpful the staff and servicemen were at the Brigadere William C Doyle Cemetery. My father was able to receive a most honorable service along side his wife, our mother of 65 years together. My brother was presented with his flag in a very emotional yet respectful tradition. Many Thanks to those who serve and have served
I love this place. It's peaceful, I love to come & sit to be with my dad. Today5/15 is his birthday & I wasn't missing this day for nothing...RIP DADDY I LOVE & MISS YOU
So very touching, especially when the flags were on all the graves for Memorial Day. It is very well kept; a water fountain; benches all over; maps available to find graves & signs up.
I love this cemetery; its peaceful and clean when you come here, but I have to say the grass has been high more than a few times over the summer, which required trimming around my Dad's plaque. The reason I gave 3 stars is because, as was tradition for the last 7 years, our family decorated his grave site with a beautiful artificial Christmas tree, adorned with family pictures & lights, fixed securely into the ground, and it was trashed by the grounds keepers! The front office stated that a new policy for all decorations to be removed by Jan 1st was implemented this past year. Although management said that notification for the policy change was posted on their website & visitor building, they didn't consider those of us who don't visit these sites. It would have been nice if notices were placed at each entrance for all to see. Any person with common sense would have recognized that this was a sentimental item that wasn't left to be discarded, and if they had a heart, they would have stored it away for a time to be claimed later, instead of tossing it in the trash!
My father, SP4 Luisito Maldonado-Ortiz, served in the Army from 1962-1965 as an ammunition specialist. Married to Luz Barerro, Louis passed away but is always remembered for his smile, patriotism and love for Family. The ceremony at BG Doyle was dignified. We held a viewing and service at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals who informed us of the tight military burial schedule. Being an Army retiree and mother to Airmen and Soldiers, I understand the need for burial schedules. I appreciate the fact that servicemembers from different services participated in the service. The female Specialist that presented my mother with a flag broke my heart as she spoke with true empathy. Thank you for a job Well Done! Hooah!
