I was unfortunately the closest to this hospital when I was brought in here against my will. Someone called a welfare check because of my depression but I was truly fine. Well ending up here was horrible. I sat for a full day and a half just waiting to see a social worker, who talked to me for 5 minutes tops, asked if I wanted to be inpatient, I told her no, told me I was fine to go, and they then were in a rush to get me out of there without my belongings. However, the hours I sat to get this accomplished were torture. I was never really seen by a doctor, Dr. Darlene Pham is a resident and this is ironic because I had another horrible experience with a doctor with the same last name, must be a thing and she is one of the worst I've ever seen. She never talked to me, examined me, cared about my pain, cared about why I was there. She screamed at me, belittled me, told me I wasn't there for pain and shouldn't be in pain even though I am because of my chronic dental conditions and had a procedure that day that lasted 2 hours and was a major infection in a tooth that was being addressed and I was supposed to be on antibiotics and pain medications, and I take pain meds at home. She has NO concept of how much dental pain I'm always in and how much procedures can exacerbate it. She never talked to me at all, saw me for 2 minutes each twice the entire time I was there, and lied about how often and when she had seen me. She has got to be the worst resident I've ever encountered. I NEVER saw an attending and would love to know where they were. Thankfully Dr. Litman, a different resident, was nice and figured out on the second day that I had covid and infectious mononucleosis and I was spiking fevers and was tachycardic. Dr. Pham didn't address that at all. They refused to allow me to see the social worker on the first day, and it took 24 hrs for me to see one only to be discharged as soon as she came in. The staff was SO belittling, let me cry for hours and didn't care, were so judgemental and couldn't care less about the patients, were making all kind of awful comments about patients to each other that I could hear and some were about me while I was sobbing, I sat in pain and they wouldn't medicate me to keep me comfortable, and they didn't give me my antibiotic for my tooth infection. Thank God I got out when I did so that my dentist can take care of me and I can take what he prescribed. This is one of the worst places i have ever been to.
Worst ER I ever been a patient at! I arrived at 10am today with my back fractured in 2 places, waited over 8 hours in the ER for a CT scan. Day shift nurse and doctor was attentive and followed up with me about my pain. Night shift doctor and nurses were TERRIBLE! Never checked on me at all I had to scream and yell for a nurse because of pain my medicine was switched to a lower medication despite my pain level Increasing and the new meds did not work at all. No one nurse nor doctor came to check on and left me in pain for 4 hours after. When I was leaving one of the nurses was loudly complaining about me needing help. LORD I hope they get the same mistreatment and cruelty when they are sick.
This is a horrible hospital. From the security at the front, to the incompetent dishonest nurses, to the fact that patients are sitting and being seen in the hallway. Loud patients making threats and disrupting other patients experiences. No one seems to care and acts like it’s normal. They tried to discharge my grandmother when she is in distress and having breathing issues, had not been seen by an actual doctor since 7 am. Beaumont Royal Oak is nothing like this. This is shameful. I do not recommend coming here or sending any loved ones here. These people do not care about others and it’s criminal. I don’t care how overwhelmed or busy you are, you came into the medical field and should hold yourselves to higher standards. I’m surprised this is a Beaumont hospital.
I've visited this hospital twice for outpatient surgery. I travel 45 minutes to get here and I'd go twice as far, passing hospitals along the way because they are so amazing!! I've never had such good care at any other facility! Twyla, Jen, Angie, I forgot other names of the nurses but as soon as I get them I'll edit my review, the anesthesia docs, Joyce, JR, everyone is amazing!!! Thank you for making my visits there so easy and smooth!
There seems to be some racial disparities in pain management in this institution. As a black woman I sat in your institution writhing in pain and I couldn’t even get the decency of seeing a physician. The resident that was sent to assess me belittled my 11 year diagnosis by, saying I was having pseudo MS pain. I am sure the first time I asked for pain medication the doctors ran a MAPS to see if I was a frequent pain medication user. If they didn’t, they should’ve because the search would have come up void. I only use pain medication as a last resort. I only come to a hospital when I can no longer tolerate or manage my pain at home. I understand my very chronic condition, and came looking for relief from intractable pain… only to be treated with the same medication I was taking at home. I would also like to touch on the falsified late entry documentation that paints a picture of me as being noncompliant and disgruntled when in fact the tech removed my IV. I requested paperwork to sign myself out but, like all other requests I was ignored for that as well. The chart paints a picture of the nurse who was doing her job when in actuality I never met the oncoming nurse. There was no hand off or introduction.
Been waiting in the waiting room for 3 hours now and counting. The old Botsford Hospital. They do not prioritize the patients properly. My mom is bleeding out and they take someone to the back who felt something in her throat unsure of what it was. My moms pressure is consistently dropping and we are still in the waiting room. I told her not to come to this location because it seems as if they don’t care. But because of the bleeding GI she wanted to come to the closest location. As I am typing this now, they just took someone back who was feeling as if they have the flu. 30 minutes PRIOR to this one person who was here before us, just went back because she started having a seizure. STAY AWAY go to the Beaumont In Royal Oak
The semi private room my husband is in is very small. Adding one visitor's chair makes it a very tight squeeze for one. How the allow 2 visitor's per patient is beyond me. The staff is very friendly and professional. Nobody can explain to me why my husband is not being fed.
Worst emergency room nurses ever. My mom was in the ER from the morning of Sunday the 13th. I'm disabled so I could not go to the ER so I call to check on my mom I'm not on the list .what I'm on the list at the nursing home she came from. Where did this list come from .they said ' we don't know' . My mom has two kids neither one on the list. We don't know the other two names . All we can do is say she is stable . I say ask her and she will give consent. We will call you or it shift change they had one at seven and one at 845pm .I've been in hospital before it's only at seven, maybe eleven but not 845pm so she lied they hung up on me twice all it takes is 5mins to ask for consent it's been over 12hours still all I know is that she stable .I'm not on list and that they lie to me and that I'm disabled and can't get info on my because my name is not on a list ,that they don't know where it comes from ,for over12hrs will be calling ADA after over 14 hr's the charge nurse says be quiet don't say anything or I will hung up on you and not tell you anything about your mom after talking to the nurse I ask to talk to her to see why this took over 14hrs and she hung up on me the second time never go here
I’ve had a procedure done at this hospital today and I can only say the very best! The nurses and the doctor Dr. Parmely were so kind, sweet but also professional. I felt great taking care off! Big thanks to everyone!!! Nadine D.
Meniscus repair, outpatient Monday. Dr. Jack Lennox. Fantastic and concerning care. Every encounter, Dion Aileen, Angie. Anesthesiologist team, Dr. Even called me this morning. Very pleased with the entire experience. Uncomfortable now, but to be expected. Our family is feeling quite safe with beaumont
