This is a lovely, quiet USACE park on a peninsula in Truman Lake. About 3 miles from 7 hwy. Very popular, so reserve early. Large, nicely kept, wooded campground with 3 loops. Nice showers and laundry rooms. Swimming beach area in B loop.
Bucksaw campground is one of my favorite places to stay. It is quite large with about 300 sites and they are spread apart. It has a really nice Beach and several playgrounds which are also really nice throughout the campground. The sites are pretty level, many with good views of the lake. For bike riders there is plenty of room for that with some trails that will take bikes as well. Some of the sites are basic some are electric and some have water as well. I am not sure if there are any with full hookups.
Can't say enough about this area. They have all kinda of amenities including, individual showers with doors, toilets that have soft TP, beachs, great lake front spots, huge spots. We had 2 tents and a truck and you could of easily put 2-3x that on one site. Restrooms: Clean, soft TP, individual showers with doors, warm water, good out house style but up to date. Dog-friendliness: Saw people with dogs Picnic area: PICNIC TABLES AT EVERY SPOT.
Great campground. Our site had a beautiful view and access to the beach and swim beach with a short walk. Plenty of room on the grass to set up games. Park rangers are great and very friendly. The police drive thru several times a day. It makes one feel safe. I highly recommend this campground and would go back. Restrooms: Great restroom. Handicap accessible and hot water. They are very well kept clean. Dog-friendliness: Very dog friendly.
This is my favorite campsite for family camping. The couple that operate the place are so amazing. They keep the place tip top and are extremely kind. We have been going there for years. No site is too far from a restroom and the marina is a quick 5 minute drive away just in case your ice melts too fast or you forget your lighter for your camp fire. Always a great getaway.
We just returned home from spending the weekend there. We had a very good time. We were there for our grandsons birthday in Clinton. The only thing I had any issue with was, the web site never said anything any having any sites with full hook ups. Wish I had know this. But of course that's my fault, I should have inquired more. We will definitely be back! Oh and sooo close to Truman Lake, and there is even a swimming beach area.
Campground was quiet and clean. There are deer all over the place. Campground staff are friendly and we enjoyed our stay. Will come again.
We all always feel welcomed and encouraged to continue to visit...we always have a great time Home away from home
Absolutely love this place!!! So much grassy area between sites for kids to play! Lots of shade!
Largest Corp park on Truman Lake. New host great people. Plenty of camp sites clean restrooms and park.
