Was out riding our completely legal atvs under the new Iowa law. Had a couple very nice officers approach us. Then had one pull us over and wasn’t the most pleasant. Made threats and barked orders. He wasn’t aware of the new law. I called the station and spoke to a lady that was very informative and polite. She went over the law with me and we determined that we are completely legal and that she would inform the officer of the new law. Was very impressed by her attitude and professionalism. She even told me to be safe and have fun!!

We went through on a quiet Sunday picking up a truck topper. Low and behold, I received not one, but two tickets for going nominally faster than their posted speed limit. HOW IS THIS LEGAL??? They can't tell who is driving! CITY OF CEDAR RAPIDS: RE-EVALUATE!!!

Had my Audi parked on 5th St. and someone struck my car at a high rate of speed and left the scene of the accident. Neighbors wrote down plates and make/model. Officer Vest and his trainee came the next morning when I discovered the accident. Within 6 hours of making contact with me they made contact with the hit & run driver and provided me with the insurance information. At a bare minimum they saved me my insurance deductible, but probably a lot more. I think Officer Vest and his trainee are exemplary examples of the best Cedar Rapids PD has to offer. Thank you CRPD

The police don’t even use turn signals nor fully stop at stop signs. No one is above the law and the people upholding it should be setting good examples. Do better.

We visited for a baseball tournament a few weeks ago. I received a ticket on I380 NB @ J Avenue Lane for going 68 and 15 minutes latter another ticket for going 71. I’ve been ticket free for over 10 years so this was a surprise. The texted the group of parents about the ticket and 6 out of the 13 families and one of the coaches all received automated tickets. Three families received multiple tickets at the same location. We had another tournament scheduled for fall ball in September that we just canceled and we wanted to come back twice next year but since the city is scamming its travelers we all decided to visit somewhere else. Cedar Rapids is on my never visit again list.

We got an un-law automated camera ticket in the mail. Im not happy because they are illegal in our state and should be nation wide. Nonetheless I went to pay the ticket and to my surprise the city if Cedar Rapids doesnt take American Express. Upon further review the City has made over $6 million dollars in automated citations in the first 3 months of 2022, yet they dont take AMEX because of the 3% processing fee. $6 million in revenue off arguably illegal camera tickets they were shut down from 2017-19 do to litigation and you cant take AMEX. Come on City of Cedar Rapids do better. Its not hard.

Unfamiliar with Cedar Rapid routine and traffic, and received a mail for a automated traffic ticket for 69kph on a 55kph, which has been revoked before and seemed now get revived. Challenged in the system and was informed another office after Police Officer Dean Chiafos has reviewed the written challenged and decided it stands. Cedar Rapids system does not make good sense and will try to avoid to drive through in the future.

I wasn't the driver of the illegal ticket you sent me. I am looking forward to having my money returned eventually, as it was returned in Missouri, when this went to our Supreme Court.

Aggressive, racist, unprofessional. Spit in the yard, 6 cops ringing the doorbell, knocking excessively. To "issue" a citation for sitting in the sac fox trail parking lot.. After park closed. One officer says 11pm, other officer says 10pm. Making threats to issue warrants and arrest, to random people in the home. All recorded.
