The most amazing and wonderful spot in the whole lower Manhattan area. Thousands of spots for resting and relaxing. Long trail to enjoy endless walking. The views inside and around are spectacular and inspiring. Few decent activities for kids plus you can almost spending the whole day exploring and it will not be enough.
Best place in NYC to take a break
Central Park is beautiful! When I visited New York, this was the first place I went to see, and it really was the best way to start off my trip. There are so many things to see in the park. I love it!
The park is beautiful. Me and my husband did a lot of walking and sightseeing. You came across a few Bridges and the angel which was a beautiful sight. I would definitely recommend coming here but atmosphere is very beautiful. We even came across an officer who was friendly enough to take a picture with us.
THIS PLACE IS UNBELIEVABLE!! I took a trip to New York with Central Park in mind. Thinking I could take a stroll, grab some photography, and enjoy the largest park New York has to offer. Once again, I was wrong!!! I'm getting quite good at that...... This park is HUGE!!! Do not come here thinking that you can see everything Central Park has to offer by foot. I didn't have the time nor the energy. I arrived at the park around 10 a.m., and around 1 p.m., I was almost at the halfway point. I'm so disappointed in myself!! Got to do better!! This park offers a plethora of pros with almost zero cons. The first thing I noticed and loved was that vehicles are NOT PERMITTED. Only authorized city vehicles. If you don't wish to walk, horse-drawn carriages can take you around the park for a fee. There's fields for picnicking, rocks to climb, carrasels to ride, trails to walk, scenery to enjoy with great skyline views, a zoo to enjoy, and thousands of steps to accumulate. Simply put........... it's worth it in every way, but please don't make my mistake. Give yourself time to enjoy everything. As always, this is the epitome of family-friendly places. I recommend Central Park for families, couples on an outing, and groups of ALL ages. There is something for everyone to enjoy here. Enjoy the photos, and I hope you can create an amazing experience of your own!!
Huge park with nice lakes and large rocks. Important for the city and its contrast to the skyscrapers. A bike tour is a great choice to explore the entirety of the park in a feasible time!
Maybe it was the area of the park we walked through, but I was a bit underwhelmed with Central Park. I know it's huge and maybe if we had an exact destination, I'd feel differently, but I just didn't love walking for miles on a gravel pathway and not having access to any bathrooms because they were all locked. We did find a garden section that was quite gorgeous. All in all, I recommend determining exactly what you want to see and where to find it before trekking through lots of gravel.
Strawberry Fields was a nice memorial to John Lennon and the Beatles. The Tavern On The Green had some nice options as you meander around the west side of Central Park. Always a lovely place to get a true taste of the diversity in New York City.
Entry : Free open 6 am to 1 am daily. Running, walking, cycling Can rent a bicycle for a park visit. Pet allowed. Central Park's 843 green acres in the heart of Manhattan. This park is home to artificial lakes, waterfalls, meadows and wooded areas. You will also find the Central Park Zoo, among other attractions in this green space of New York.
Central Park is best described as nature in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the big city. Central Park provides another dimension to a huge city that is multifaceted. However, Central Park balances it all out with a touch of nature w/ a peaceful and serene scene that is so necessary.
